You should try to clone the harddrive while you still have it (do you?) because I don't think it would be to hard to pull the backup apart to find your personal files and shizzle. (providing it isn't encrypted)

*In fact today I had finished building my new Gaming PC and just connected up my hard drive from my old computer and moved everything over so I can decide what is useful and what is not.

EDIT: Haven't you tried putting the Windows 7 Installation disk and running Repair Windows? it reinstalls windows while leaving your personal files intact.

I have a critical problem regarding the future of Sierra. The main reason is I accidently forced closed my computer when it had Windows updates on. Therefore Windows chooses not to boot up into the login screen.

The only opitions are;

- Launch startup repair
- Start windows normally

Startup repair only brings me back into the option list as shown above and same with Start windows normally. I tried booting in safemode and every possible option I could within the F8 list.

I can wait until Monday so it can be fixed, but I risk having my HDD wiped. I have no backups. Although I have a 19 day old copy Sierra is missing pets and HC. (but I don't have a database for it)

A tip: download dropbox, put your emulator in it and code via dropbox. Everytime you save a file, and your laptop/computer shuts down, and it needs to be re-installed, you can get it back.

Here in Brazil, the actualization "KB2823324" bricked most PCs, the same of your PC (Repair/Start Windows, but none starts, a "bootloop"), but you can recover the PC using the DVD of Win 7, boot DVD, enter CMD, and type "dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions", (change C:\ for your drive, like D:\)

Or you can copy "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ntfs.sys" of a working machine with same of your Win 7( x86 or 64), put it in your USB drive, boot with a Live CD of Linux (Ubuntu), open Nautilus, enter in your drive, and replace "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ntfs.sys" with the working file. Rebbot

His Laptop is a school laptop and they won't want you installing crap on to it. At least that was the policy here.
