[help] How to start on a mac?
First of all, Hi everyone!
I'm very new at this, but for years I was looking for a good way to make a retro on my local machine.
So not for public, but to test things just on my mac.
The problem here is, i'm using a iMac with MacOS 10.13.4
And all tutorials / threads I can find are about windows.
Hopefully someone could help me out with this so I finally can start.
- - What files do I need, and where can I all find them?
- - Xampp was not working on High Siera, so I downloaded the app MAMP for a local server, is this also ok?
- - And how to start the setup or start at all.
I'm not lazy, and yes I used search but the problem is that all tutorials I can find are not up-to-date, so files are missing or sites are down, and windows only ...
So if someone can please help me to setup arcturus on my mac, you're a hero for me!
Or at least put me on the right direction
Thanks!

Re: [help] How to start on a mac?
Altough i dot not recommend doing this on MacOS at all
You could probably figure somthing out like:
Installing Apache + PHP + Mysql
Using Arctureus Emu cuz its Java and running EXE's with wine SUX
Make sure you use PHP 5.6 or lower OR php 7+ and have a cms wich is coded with Mysql"I"

Mac user here too. Mac is a pretty sweet environment for development since its flexible even though it lacks Windows supports; its doable.
Emulators
These emulators run on a Mac pretty well since they're cross-platform.
-Arcturus
-Comet
Software
If you use RevCMS; MAMP works fine, but I would try to go with a small nginx example using mariadb so that you can learn NGINX in the process for later on :) .
If you're interested in other alternatives that are cross-platform. I would suggest Node based projects such as Bill's HabboAPI or my very own Heroic Two. However, they have a steep learning curve due to using front and backend frameworks.
Also, look into using Visual Code or Atom. Microsoft also has a version of Visual Studio that runs on Mac; and using Mono any emulator using C# should be able to work on mac.
