    Blue Screen of Death: "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion MS215UK All-in-One PC and I have this very irritating problem.

Every 2-3 days, I get a blue-screen error message and it says "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR" and I am unable to boot Windows after recieving this message. When I attempt to reboot the PC, I get this message: "Operating system not found" and then I am forced to re-install Windows 7, then my PC works fine for another 2-3 days before I get the same blue screen error again. This problem has been going on for about 4 months.

I need an urgent fix for this, and I am not sure whether I need a new hard drive or RAM upgrade (maybe something else?)

I have searched on Google for solutions to this but none of them seem to help. I've already tried the CHKDSK function in Command Prompt and it does not help, I still get the same blue screen and I'm unable to boot Windows.

    PC specs:
    Windows 7 Ultimate X64
    2x 1024MB RAM (2GB)
    AMD Athlon X2 64 Dual-Core Processor 3250e - 1.50 GHz
    ATI Radeon HD 3200 GFX
320GB SATA WD Caviar Blue Hard Drive

Give us all the information included in the BSoD....use your phone to take a pic then post it here....thats the easiest way.

Are you using a Genuine Windows Disk or something downloaded...gotta ask...cause it could be a bad loader.

The BSOD appears unexpectedly, I don't have enough time to unlock my phone and take a picture as it automatically restarts the PC almost instantly, however I do see the "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR" message. I'll try my best to take a picture of it next time I see this blue screen.

I have to be honest with you, no it's not a genuine disk, I downloaded a pre-activated ISO and burned it to a disk to install Windows on this PC. This was done a very long time ago so I'm not sure where I downloaded it from, sorry.

hdd is stuffed, run scan-disk and check for bad sectors, or just get a new one.

I could run the scandisk function a million times and it would tell me that there is nothing wrong with the hard drive, but at the end of the day, I'm still gonna get the same blue screen error. The hard drive does most likely have bad sectors, if there aren't any solutions for my problem then I guess I'll just have to buy a new hard drive, thanks though.

Re: Blue Screen of Death: "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

I would recommend getting another version of Windows...sounds like a bad Rip...

and no need to apologize...I'm running a ripped version of Win 7 Ultimate...have been for over a year with no issues...there are some out there work good...

Before you buy a HD Google Defraging your pagefile sys...I ran across alot of threads of people having the same issue as you that this fixed.

Someone posted a question about the KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR problem on MS Answers, here is the response:

Here is the article as it has quite a few long responses which might help (some include hotfixes etc). https://www.hejula.net/d/ov44

I'll try out a page defragging program and see what happens. I've also downloaded an "untouched" version of Windows 7 X64 Ultimate and already burned to an ISO. I'll install it and if it works for more than five days without a BSOD error then I'll let you know, thanks.

@Hejula, like I said, I've already searched on Google, and since that was one of the first results that came up, I've obviously had a look at it, I've already given it a go and it doesn't work, I've downloaded the hotfix (and it didnt seem to work) and like I said before I've already tried CHKDSK. Thanks for the support though.

Another suggestion could be to use a 32 bit version of Windows 7, seeing as you're using 2GB RAM there isn't much of an advantage using x64.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Blue Screen of Death: "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

I've had RAM issues before but never seen that particular error caused by it...thats an error in writing to his pagefile...and then completely losing his OS due to it? It's very weird.

Re: Blue Screen of Death: "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

So I've finally downloaded an "untouched" copy of Windows 7 Ultimate X64 with SP1 and installed it. The only programs installed are Google Chrome, Microsoft Security Essentials and BitTorrent, with all the default Windows settings (InPage is system managed), and the necessary HP drivers (graphics, audio, host controller, etc). So far, so good, if I manage to run the computer for about a week without a BSOD error relating to the paging file, I'll let ya'll know, thanks.

Would using a 32-bit version of Windows gonna help me with my BSOD error? ...I don't think so, but if my problem still continues then maybe I'll see what happens with X32 Windows instead of X64.

I really think it was the Windows...guy probably just got too crazy removing stuff and removed an important file.

Well you have been quiet for 24 hours...I'm guessing it's fixed :)

Re: Blue Screen of Death: "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

Second day of running Windows 7.....look what appeared! Luckily this time, I managed to disable auto-reboot so I had time to take a picture of the blue screen. It has not "deleted" the operating system yet, I just rebooted the PC as normal, but I'm certain that this same screen will pop up again and "delete" the OS.
