Open letter to the L2 community

[Deltaanime]

Hi everyone,

As you can tell by the name, this is Delta from DeltaAnime :P

With the fall out of the official L2 based servers nearly complete (I think it's close to pretty much everyone closing up shop at this point), DeltaAnime wishes to push forward to try to help the community more.

Much like we did for the ragnarok community, a EMU was developed, which got around any sort of persecution done by Gravity.

Currently, there is only 1 L2 EMU, known as 'L2j' or L2java (ew java!)

DeltaAnime has made many offers to the official L2j community in hopes of better supporting it and bringing it to DeltaAnime, but all such tries have been thrown back in our face.

As L2j is Opensources/GPL'd, it's fine for a fork to be made. DeltaAnime wishes to make the following offer to the L2 Community:

We wish for a fork of the L2j source base to be made, and from there a new set of L2 servers can begin, without worrying about NCSoft being able to hurt them.

DeltaAnime is more than willing to offer the following things to help such a venture take off:

- Public/Private SVN/CVS servers with full root access to the base OS for the admins
- Testing grounds for said builds. We can provide many OS's to run on - you name the OS, we can get it on there for you.
- IRC network & a strong backing from the team to help with any issues.
- Forum/site hosting with out worries of resource issues.

We're looking for a team (or a group of teams that are willing to work together) that is in this for the long haul. All of this does take time and a lot of money to get in place, so please don't talk to me about this if you're just doing first year java in school or something to that affect.

All resources deltaanime offers will be free to the teams to develop on and the likes.
