As far as "not typing it correctly", who calls it ASP .NET? You're hardly going to be using ASP without .NET, it'd be about as useful as HTML (or maybe JavaScript as you can do math computation and such...) - it IS a language I'm familiar with, I don't write it often but I have in the past for small projects (and when I say small, I don't mean a single. fucking. page.)
The back-end functionality of ASP (with or without .NET) is FAR surpassed by Ruby and JSP (and hell, even PHP on a well developed framework). How the fuck does it require more general knowledge? Something supported by the Roles functionality on all Windows Server OS' vs/ languages that require their own environment to be installed manually... I'd think ASP .NET would be much easier to deploy if you're using Windows (which for a web server you shouldn't be...), no?
Anyways, it's 2:16am, I'm probably rambling, if that was coherent you're a fucking idiot, if it wasn't you're still a fucking idiot. Enjoy. <3
