It sticks to whatever you've hovered over for now - I might look into a rotation at a later point but it's not the top of my priorities right now.
Begun work on the character selection template (yes, I'm going with the multiple characters under one email approach that Habbo.com use).
I'll post screenies of it once it's looking healthier than what I have so far ^_^

I'm loving the CMS..
I dont understand why you dont make a emulator for it aswell..
But VERY good job
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Emu is just some extra work for him. Its compatible for uberemu so he doesnt have to code a emulator. He could edit a emulator really quick and fix all the bugs and errors. That be cool.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Yes there is an accompanying emulator however I haven't posted about it because it's not freeware - it's Phoenix Emulator 3.0, not allowed to make a thread about it on here but both the CMS and Emulator will be demo'd on Phoenix 3.0 as soon as I feel it's ready for early testing. Once it's running on there I will likely expand the beta to a few select hotels after which everyone with a Phoenix licence will have access to an open beta.
The CMS is free and will remain free. I'm thinking about adding a style system to it, if I do it will be added fairly soon, best to get it in the foundations rather than re-do everything at a later stage to accommodate for it.
Anyways working on the avatar widget some more tonight.. probably gonna string it all together tomorrow so that registration and login are coded.. we'll see how it goes :)

Nice work Aaron, looking great so far.
The only problem with the leaked Uber is the Process Engine, thats what causes it to fail.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Been on a bit of a bug hunting mission today, sorted out a few problems here and there also got started on upgrading the navigation system.. I decided to make it retard proof - seriously you can't go wrong - You simply create a folder with the name you want to appear on the menu and a number beforehand depicting the order.. the picture probably makes it easier to understand;
http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4074/home6.png
As you can see I've also started on the submenu - however this isn't dynamic yet but soon will be, the idea being that it will display a list of all files in the folders so adding your own custom pages and tabs really will be as easy as 1,2,3.
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Lmao, good good....Lot of retards today. Good idea.
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Retard Proofing..
Where do you come up with these ideas.?
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
While stringing together the registration pages I decided I didn't like the look of the avatar selection page so I tossed it out and re-made it.. this is what I got;

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Users online now refreshes every 30 seconds (only once logged in).
Spent a few hours re-coding all the CSS and existing pages so that it now runs off of a style system - it's pretty basic but it's also very easy to use and change between styles.. I'll probably include 2 or 3 in the launch, then with any luck people will release their own styles in the future.
Registrations about 90% done now - just need to finish the character selection page and then we're sweet.
Once registration is complete I can do login, should be easy enough.
After login is done I can finally get the client working.
Finally, once all that is done I'll be in a position where I can actually upload all this to Habboon and start getting some feedback on what you guys think.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Looks pretty amazing - Cant wait for the release :)

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Right, really close to having all the basics done now;
I've finished registration to about 99% (I still want to do the adding of extra characters to your account.. it's not much more work).
Just finished login too - you can now login with your username to go directly into the site or you can login with your email account to get a list of all your accounts and then select a character to login with from there.. Need to stop people from registering with the same email and finish the login part from the character selection page..
Also just whipped up a pretty sweet session check system that should make sure no sessions are hijacked.
Uhm.. I think that's about it for now, pretty tired so might have to leave it at that for today heh, we'll see.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Right registration and login are both complete, although I still need to add email verification and email restrictions. I also still need to add the ability to directly add a new avatar to your existing ones on the avatar selection page (the button is there but it does nothing yet).
The character widget on the main page is now 90% coded properly, just 2 things that need fixing on it - VIP/HC days remaining (although this will have to wait til I see how I do it in the emulator) and friends online - (again gotta wait til I get the Emu running before I can run tests with this).
Next step is coding in the news to load from the database and fixing everything I mentioned above I guess ^_^

Anyways, The Images we are seeing are the CF version?
Or are they going to look EXACTLY the same.
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
These are all the CF version - both versions should look the same however the PHP developer hasn't done any work in a while so.. You might be waiting a while for a PHP release.
At the current rate I think I'll have the test site up this week.. Probably leave it til Friday before opening it but uh, we'll see - might change my mind ^_^

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Alright spent a bunch more time polishing things off, as it stands the registration and login system is 100% complete, done and dusted.
I've also just finished coding the motto bar on the homepage so it behaves pretty much like the real Habbo one.
Registering a new avatar under your account is done and pretty much a 2 button job.
Sorted out the email checker on registration so it makes sure people can't register the same email as other people.. I want to sort out an email verification system but I'll leave that for later, it's not vital at this stage.
Also the main page is now completely database driven apart from the VIP days which as mentioned beforehand, will have to wait in line.
Campaigns are now pulled from the database, if there are no active campaigns the entire campaign box will be removed automatically.
The news will now show up to 5 stories.. actually that reminds me I need to stick in a default for if there is no news in the database.. or just remove it completely if there's no news found..
Umm.. Yeah so all the basics are in place now apart from the client page which I will probably do after some hard earned sleep ^_^
Anyways here's a lil look at how the main page is looking now;

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Got the client page working today along with a few other little fixes.. getting the client working took more effort than expected and I had to link to Habbos CSS & JS files to do it too.. I'll work out what it actually requires and pull out the parts it needs so it's not dependant on it though. Probably gonna do that tomorrow along with getting email verification sorted out. I still need to recode the submenu system.. It hurts my head just thinking about how I'm gonna do it but oh well, it'll be worth it once it's working heh.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
ALL OF THEM, WHY NOT JUST GET ALL OF THEM!
Rather than searching for which ones are needed?

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
It doesn't negatively impact the way that it works, it just saves time..

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Extra, unused code = longer loading times.
Sure it saves time to just copy and paste, but that's just pure lazy - I like to do things properly.

Anyways.. I haven't messed around with coding a page in months..
But good luck with all the CSS and JS

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Because I'm awesome, silly ^_^
Managed to get all the new furni into the catalogue today - I had issues with my furni appearing but after hours of messing around and some help from Rav4eg (from Otaku) I finally managed to get the furni loading and a decent catalogue.
Next step is coding in all the new furni behaviour I guess.. looks like there's lots to do too.. footballs, water, battleball has gates, tiles, teleporters, scoreboards and timers.. yikes!
Might take a crack at wired furni too - depends how Habbo have done it I guess ^_^
As far as the CMS goes.. I still need to redo the navigation system.. other than that it's looking pretty healthy now.
I think the test hotel will be opening up on Friday for sure, maybe even earlier for a few private testers first.

My catalog has 170+ pages in it :p
well organized and in alphabetical order lol
red mode, green ice, blue area, all the rares etc. all have there own section.
Sadly I forgot which furni line I stopped at, so up to the new voodoo isn't in the catalog.
I might start working on it again and release it.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Aaron, it looks like you haven't fixed anything in UberEMU,
You'r beta-hotel laggs as hell & alot of d/c's.
And why are you coding in Coldfusion? o_O
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Like I said, the hotel is still in early development - I'm not personally getting any lag though so Idk what you're on about there.
As said before there will be 2 versions of the CMS, one CF and one PHP. I'm developing the CF version and it will be the first one released, the PHP version will follow sometime after.
Been working on battle banzai today, got the tiles working fine and the game end - the gates aren't 100% but they are working. Also done the teleporters 100%. I can't get my scoreboards to load so not sure what's up with that - if anyone knows whats up with it that would be a big help. I also need to code the countdown and the pucks - although I have no idea what the pucks are meant to do yet, guess I need to give .com a visit ^_^
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
If you hit the puck, it slides along and lights up some tiles

Sorry for the slow reply - I spent the weekend with friends, anyways;
The test hotel is @ Phoenix 3.0
As sledmore said I've recoded quite a bit of the backend for a few reasons - the templates are now much cleaner however I've removed the sliding effect between pages.. I might have it in there as an option but I personally had to remove it because when sliding from one page to the next the adverts wouldn't reload - and when your hotel runs on the money made from adverts that's a no no :P
The hotel still has a few bugs and what not - still lots to do on the CMS side of things too but it's getting there.

The puck is pretty much like football furni.
You hit it and it will move in the direction you hit it.
It also colors the tiles it slides on. If tile is empty it colors it, if colored it will darken the color and so on until the tile is locked.
-
Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Made some changes to pathfinder today so you can now maze with mats at different height levels like you can on .com - I've also changed it so you can use gates at any height level, not just ground floor.

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
I would suggest having class for javascript and having that in an external file, and when the DOM:loaded, you can then execute the commands that you wish.. For instance (btw, I code in prototype, so you have to translate).
Code:
var Phoenix = {
currentNews: 1,
updateNews: function( newsId )
{
Phoenix.currentNews = newsId;
},
displayPage: function( pageName )
{
new Ajax.Updater('mainContent', '/ajax/' + pageName + '.php' );
}
}
document.observe( 'dom:loaded', function( )
{
Phoenix.displayPage( 'random' );
} );
One thing that I like about your code is that your using CSS references to activate code, such as.. If you click a.changeMotto, it executes a function, Lemme grab some code from your site to explain..
Code:
$('.Usersmotto').click(function() {
}

Code:
var Phoenix = {
currentNews: 1,
updateNews: function( newsId )
{
Phoenix.currentNews = newsId;
},
displayPage: function( pageName )
{
new Ajax.Updater('mainContent', '/ajax/' + pageName + '.php' );
}
}
document.observe( 'dom:loaded', function( )
{
Phoenix.displayPage( 'random' );
} );
One thing that I like about your code is that your using CSS references to activate code, such as.. If you click a.changeMotto, it executes a function, Lemme grab some code from your site to explain..
Code:
$('.Usersmotto').click(function() {
}

Yeah trying to keep it tied with CSS for easier skinning, I'd like users to be able to easily reskin the site without having to do any proper coding, should be as simple as just changing the CSS files :)

Re: Phoenix CMS [UberEmu Compatible]
Started work on the articles display page, I've decided to implement a commenting system similiar to the one I created for HabboRP - the style however as I'm sure you can see is shiny new :)

Updated the style slightly.. removed the box around comments, wasn't really needed. I've also recoded the navigation system again - it's more user friendly now, you can't see any difference but you had to click the actual text beforehand, now you can click anywhere on the button - as it should be. Uh still need to do a submit button for the comments then it's just about done :)
