Ah, those getting corrupt zips are using IE6/7/8 (damned IE).
The leech protector I created strips the content size and places "unknown". All modern browsers take this as "keep downloading until there's no more data". IE takes it as "there is no data to download". Another reason I hate IE.
Now, I store the content size with the data, so it should work with IE. I also see how horrible the site looks in IE now. I hate designing. (especially with IE).
