    Scam Report / Warning. 2Habbo owner / xHotel.co.uk tech

Hello. I would like to warn you all about Monestic aka Habbo2.
    Profile link: http://forum.ragezone.com/members/2000003663.html

Me and monestic had been talking since march. I am in the process of opening a Norwegian retro hotel and need an emulator with the latest UI. We agreed to me buying his Emulator (used on xHotel.co.uk) for 130 USD. Today when I had transfered all the money I got yesterday on my birthday, I asked him if we could could do the purchase. After the payment was sent he would send me a password protected download. I sent the payment but was 10 dollars short because of the fee's and currency changes, but I was going to send him the rest from another CC and he was okay with it. After I had paid he sent me a download link, it was not password protected as he said it would be but it apparently was an "installer" that would extract the files.
I was very suspicious but still. The files were corrupted and I am currently diagnoisng my server. Then he deleted me from his contacts.

    His skype name is monestic

    Proof:
    Spoiler:

here is the payment proof. It's in norwegian but you can see the amount and date.

    Spoiler:

Here you can see some of our skype chat. Here he is providing me his PayPal e-mail and telling me the file is password protected. You can see I am starting to be suspicious about the e-mail.

    Spoiler:

Here you can see the last part of our conversation, where he also tells me it's an installer.

The reason why I post this thread is because I want to prevent this user from scamming any other members. This is my first time ever being scammed, and I feel horrible. Please don't tell me it's my fault. Scamming is not accepted in any community and does have consequences.

    Message for Monestic, aka. Habbo2:
If Monestic actually reads this, I obviously want to ask him to refund the money he took from me. It was my birthday money, and I was going to spend it on something I wanted to do. In this case, it was to open a habbo retro community. I do not want to press any charges against you, or get anyone involved, but if you do not refund it, I see no other choise.

Thanks for taking time to read this. Remember to be 100% sure before you make a purchase on the internet. Being scammed is a horrible experience and you feel like an idiot.

Unfortunately as a gift as he did not want to pay the fees.
    This emulator had everything working.

    LOL. Stupid guys.
You'll never learn an important lesson. NEVER, but NEVER, buy an emulator when there are millions out there that are free.
It's your own fault. Also, don't trust just everyone on the internet.

Guess I've learned a lesson. Still, it's not acceptable. I do not know C#. I wanted the new UI and was looking for one that was working without errors.

Yes. I've sent an e-mail, and will probably call tomorrow. I'm now left with nothing, not a single penny nor an emulator for my hotel :/

Well, I got to be honest... it's kind of stupid to trust anybody just blind on the internet. The internet's a dark place were nobody is who he seems.
But I'm happy you've learnt a lesson. If you want an emulator which is pretty neat, use ankkaEmu or whatever the name is. It's new UI and has alot features.

Indeed it is. Things seemed ok until today. I really wanted this, I think that might "blinded" me, it was so obvious.
All I want is money back and emu up, haha. Thanks for your suggestion, I will have another look at it.

Normally I wouldn't have responded to one of these threads as it's in wrong section and off topic, but this is an exception. To start off, it doesn't matter if you sent the money as a gift, service or whatever option there is. The transaction can still be disputed, you just have to wait 7 days until disputing from the date the transaction took place. In this scenario you are not covered by the Paypal Buyer Protection as it is virtual goods and hard to track. Nor is the seller protected by the Paypal Seller Protection which means you are both on 'level'. You seem legit and I have good faith that PayPal will think the same. If however you happen to loose the dispute, you can take it even further 'forcing' your bank to reverse the transaction. In this case you gotta go trough the norwegian Forbrukerrådet which will help you further.

I have been scammed so many times by people on this forum, and its very frustrating. I know the feeling. I'm not doing business anymore with anyone apart from the people I know i can trust. People with a full reputation bar for instance. I also no longer use PayPal, Google Wallet is good.

    Anyway, goodluck with the dispute.
