Offtopic:
Adus do you think you'll ever code a V20-V24 hotel?
Personally I love V9, but it's hard to manage a V9 hotel without a HabboCMS. Also, most people prefer V23 so it'd be hard to get a V9 retro popular.
Ontopic:
Can Thor handle 70-150 users and a database with 1693 users, 3168 rooms, 112832 pieces of furniture, without crashing?
Do you know about hebzo and timeshotel? They were/are popular and i don't think they ever used HoloCMS.Personally I love V9, but it's hard to manage a V9 hotel without a HabboCMS. Also, most people prefer V23 so it'd be hard to get a V9 retro popular.
The server has never been tested under that sort of load.
The number of rooms and furniture is not an issue.
The number of concurrent users is what you need to worry about.
70 - 150 might be alright. I've heard it will run with around 70. The limit is hardware more than anything else, 70 concurrent users is going to eat memory.
Yes it would be better when you code a higher Version!
Example v14 ? that would be so awesome ;)
Good Luck for the Future
yes need it v23 but i have scanned it with AVG 8.0 and it is clean
Awsome release!
I dont understand it adus!
Can you help me!
my msn sweet_styler1@hotmail.de
it would be great when you are helping me
Could you make a [TUT] tutorial for this like how to set up . As i've seen this days alot of people is using holo emulator . So i think each hotel shld use diff emulator that will be more cooler :D
Seems .. Like a Nice Server.. hmm. 9/10
If this server was ever to become v24, it would be awesome
yet v9 is awesome too ( for the retro within you lol )
I got it running (thanks to Joeh's guide) and it works great, best server I've seen so far. =]
Camera wouldn't be too hard for you I guess Joeh, I already got quite far, it isn't as hard as I thought. (still one of the most complex things after all)
Oh and VashMaster, why do you always keep talking about 'catalogue is slow/fast/amazing fast etc', a catalogue can't be fast/slow!(unless there are like char1's in the 'page file' which was pretty common in the old VB6 servers. They break the page packet making it loading forever until a new char1 is received)
A server can 'never' be slow enough for generating the catalogue page, as the actual loading of the page & it's sprites takes way more time than the building of the page.
It's true that V9 has a faster catalogue than let's say, V13. I remember they introduced the 'dynamical downloader' somewhere before V13, but after V9, which gives you the sense of 'slow', while the server is doing nothing wrong, the client just takes more time to load.
Just wanted to make that clear for you because I've seen you saying that in like every topic regarding servers. 'is the catalogue fast/slow' etc.
Btw, ever noticed that the catalogue of the 'DarkHabbo' and the 'USA111 V9' server was much faster? Nothing in the coding changed, just the client was faster at loading it in V9. (no dynamical downloader back then)
However, this server kicks ass of all servers I've seen so far (including my own ones), and if I hadn't left Habbo retros I would help you with some stuff.
Although I'm pretty sure that don't you need any help, but just for the fact that you are coding alone on an open-source project, and I kinda know how it 'feels'.
