From R#tr*DEV:
Introduction
Due to some recent personal events, I have come to the realization that it is no longer possible for me to continue this project "full time" within the foreseeable future. This means that I cannot complete the project in an acceptable time frame nor guarantee an end-product that meets the initially promised results.
I have made a promise to the community that I feel I can only fulfill by taking a new direction: going open-source and inviting community contributors to aid in the development and continuation of Snowlight.
This decision is final. There are more important things for me right now.
Additional information
- The project will continue to be updated by myself and other contributors. It will remain managed and developed, and will not have to rely on community patches to continue.
- Within the foreseeable future I will stay in charge of the project as project manager. I intend to eventually pass this over.
- We will be looking for community contributors (programmers) in the near future as well to help continue Snowlight's development.
- RetroDev will remain online and unaffected by these events - it will remain the official forum for Snowlight development, only perhaps in a larger scale.
- uberHotel will remain online and will remain to be updated in the foreseeable future. It can still serve it's purpose to help test certain features and gather feedback.
- The Snowlight software will be 100% free. No charges, anywhere. Not now, not ever.
- Some RetroCMS components will be released in a similar way to help further facilitate development.
We hope this is a suitable outcome for everyone. We'd like to thank you for your continued support.
Snowlight is now free and Open-Source
At least he made the right decision to make it Open-Source. I am tired of everyone trying to sell emulators. They not even trying to help people to learn, just want that $$.
