Have a few questions

I am new in this section, and to RuneScape. I've became interested in learning Java, and thought this would be a great game to help me out. I do have a few questions about RuneScape;
What is the difference between 508, 377, 474, etc. version?

The cache folder, is the folder with all the images/sounds/etc.?

Which cache would work for the 508 version? The ones I found that had an active link to a 377 server I believe.

I have no interests in running a server, just for the chance at learning Java game programming.

These are the different versions of RuneScape that have been developed by the community. 377 is the oldest, 508 the newest.

True, but you can use a cache editor play around with that.

Thank you. I figured Java would be the best choice for now, due to I would have to learn more about C++ API before I start in DirectX.

@ penguinGuy: Right theres actually not much to learn from runescape servers, its all the same lol.
I must admit though i started off from JAVA on runescape servers and it helped me ALOT!

But then again i have been doing it for 3 years lawl, started out on 317, quit, then went to 508, i think 508 is the best to work on though, not as much crap released for it
