Anyone can teach me on how do edit php web page?

Hi, i'm a noob at webbing, i downloaded the simple web made from sin, but i dun really like the background(plain purple) is there any way for me to add background to it?and is there way to add other sections besides "register";"rank" etc?

if you want to learn it i think you should go to the library and borrow some books about html and php or search books on the internet.
