How to change starting screens.

I was wondering how i could change the Starting screens, just because it would be nice to give it a little touch of my server. Also the Agree screen edit would be nice =P
Where should i search in my 3Ddata for it?

I gues i have to check the Gui_1.dds or so and edit the layers with some Photoshop (with DDS pluggins) Is this right?

I dont remember its exact name of it but its in your 3ddata/res folder i believe. You will see it if u have the dds thumbnail viewer.

Kay, found the agree screen and edited it with my Adobe photoshop Cs2. ( It has DDS Pluggins )

Now i delete my old with my VFS nextgen and add the new which i edited, then i start up my client & then it crashes -It says something about client does not respond- what did i do wrong?

Post a pic of the error. Are you sure you saved the file with the correct alpha channel settings? and with the same file name, in the same location as the old one?

Yea, ill check it all out - The error is nothing more then a general windows error of that the client does not respond anymore, and with normal rose the change works just fine, but on my custom client it does not..

Irfanview is a very useful free program that will allow you to view DDS files.
It will also convert them to JPG or any number of other formats.
Since rose will also display splash screens in jpg format, need I say more?

So you mean i can add it to my photoshop as a pluggin, then i can just change & save them as a .JPG and replace them as a .JPG instead of .DDS, if thats what you mean, how come the changed DDS still works @ Narose?

if you save them as jpg you also have to modify the STB that loads them.
Otherwise yes you can just save the files as jpg

Okay, what STB should i change for the agree screen?

You know what.. I'm not actually sure if that particular screen is loaded via STB. It might be controlled via the XML files.

I've never really tried to change it particularly hard. I once briefly went looking for what loads it and came up blank to be honest.

Maybe if I get the time I will go figure this out unless somebody else out there knows already.

All the loading screens are in the STBs definitely though.

For people around here that like to edit stuff...
You can easy edit and DDS file...
Just import it to Photoshop...
Save it as an PNG and change .png to .dds
It works for logo's and so on...
For some reason it reads the png's correctly png's are handyer because you can use transparent backgrounds :)
