I am trying to get a server working from source so I can actually edit my game but I keep getting "client SID %%% is inactive" error

Well can you tell me which client version your using please.
Im using version 131_131 on current version 81 running that I dont have source for.
I tried multiple clients on the new build but cant connect then get that SID error
Also there is no errors whatsoever on compiling and I extracted and updated the database files also

131_131 is an IROSE client and version 81 is the osrose server aka EVO server. If you want to use an irose client, you need to get the osirose server, or the offical files posted on this forum.

Ok well using the source files from the svn I got folders called irose that looks like the source isnt there, osprose and osrose.
OSrose is the one I compiled so if want to use that one what client exactly do I need to get for it to work?

well its simple. inside the accounts table there is a collum called active all beneath is atm 0 ?
if yes
design your table and make the active default at 1
and edit al the other ZERO's to ONE's
and there is no longer unactive client anymore

Yeah... not quite... setting the default value of active to 1 tells the server that the account is in use, which then translate as logged in when it hits the Login Server. Then you've got to enter your information twice, once to get the error message saying the account is already logged in, and a second time to force the active value to 0 and successfully log in.
As for the server troubles, make sure both your server and client match; take for example the OspRose server files. If you try running NaRose v.314 on them, it won't work, but if you run NaRose v.112 on them, it will work. I believe the most updated OsRose server files are not compatible with some of the packets contained in the latest version of the NaRose client, so you'd need the v.306 client to work with the OsRose files. As Purple already said, the OsiRose server files work with the HRose v.131 client.
Once you've gotten your proper server and client, make sure to get the AIP, QSD, and STB files from their respective folders within the VFS archive and put them in their corresponding folders within the server files.
The database remains, for the most part, the same throughout all the OS server files and so you shouldn't have to change that at all if you have the proper files.
Finally, make sure your IPs and ports are configured properly. Open the Command Prompt and run the ipconfig command to get all the IPv4-based IPs and forward the proper ports with the proper protocols, both TCP and UDP.
If you compiled the files properly, remembering to include libmysql.dll and pthreads.dll, and configured your IPs and ports correctly, the client and server will work and your server should be open to the public depending on what IP you put under Server IP, WAN for public, LAN for local. if it doesn't, you did something wrong and you should post about it in this topic.
