Hey guys, well first time trying to make a rose server.
And wanted to know which files would be best to use .
I was using v80 at first but then read it was outdated or so?
If not, then i will just continue using it.
Altough then i have to look for client files due the one from v80 link is broken.

Thanks but to bad mysql is failing me...
I don't know why because usually it works fine, but then i use different configurations then the tut tells =/.

when i click execute it gives me a error.
and later on i tried again and then had freeze and then it closed...Code:Could not start the service mysql
i've tried pretty much everything.
Bin googling for over 3 hours...
EDIT: I don't know how, but somehow i fixed it.

No problem, mysql errors are mostly easy to fix if you just make sure you did the following;
Running it on XAMPP
and
Made a firewall exeption on port 3306 (At the last part of the setup
If it still doesnt work just redo the Wizard but not with install but repair/change,
From the look of the error, it's most likely that some program you are already running is either starting mysql or doing something that blocks it.
I have a similar problem on one of my PCs. It will run mysql but flat out refuses to start apache from Xampp. I haven't really spent a lot of time trying to diagnose it since it doesn't matter all that much to me, but I'm almost certain that one of the programs that loads as a service on bootup is blocking it. Possibly Xfire

Never really had so much trouble with server making....

Execute the table roseon.channels.sql and try it again!

Correct, those problems are included in my guide, like which tables are added and which are not,
I would also recommend that you do all your database management in phpmyadmin rather than any of the standalone mysql editors.
It comes free with xampp, it's easy to use and you can access it over the web from a remote location.
Oh and it works better too.

Seriously though, there's nothing really wrong with it. I just don't like the navicat user interface much. I find phpmyadmin a lot more user friendly. Plus I do a lot of work on my server from work so I need a reliable web interface to my database.
If you want something that really fails though, you could always try SQLYog
I tried using it and found that it has a tendency to truncate text fields to only whatever is currently visible in the cell. That usually means about 15 characters.
I don't know I use phpmyadmin too most of the time ^_^
agreed on the phpmyadmin, it comes with xxamp and most other web hosting services and when u buy a domain and hosting service it comes with it most of the time. I would only use navicat for remote sql controlling when i really need it. I have an sql database engine on my phone for remote database editing on the go so i dont ever use navicat.
@Aukemon0NL why not just put a .htaccess on it so it has to authenticate the user?
Anyways as he said he fixed it so no big deal now.
