Skill crash
Uh well I use EVO Rose. and certain skills like Requiem crash me. When i go to to buy the skill from the righteous crusader guy in zant, as soon as i press enter to buy it it shuts my client off. T_T! and also, is there a limit to how many skills u can have? cuz after a while my world server says something like skills too full in row 1 or something

Re: Skill crash
So many people have this same issue.
They update their client and then expect it to work with unmodified server files.
IT WON"T WORK!. End of story.
If you change your client in any way......
You update it to the latest version,
You move to an older version,
you mod it yourself
or start to use one that somebody else modded.
It doesn't matter how you mod it, the fact is it will be different in some way.
You absolutely must extract all the STBs from your chosen client and use them in the server otherwise you will undoubtedly experience epic failure
With osirose, osrose (rev 81) and osprose, this is relatively easy. You just grab the STBs, QSDs and AIP from the client and simply paste them into the server and it will read them in when you start it up
With osrose (rev 80) it isn't quite so easy. you have to make the STBs into CSVs (conversion tools are available but that is for a different thread) QSDs are handled by hard coding and an sql table so we can ignore them and AIP isn't used at all.
So please people....
before posting "My skills code doesn't work any more" or some related problem......
Take a look around with that handy search button.
This subject probably crops up about 3 times per day every day in these forums.
Whether your skills don't work or you can't buy stuff without crashing your client or when you learn a skill you get the wrong one or the shopkeeper gives you the wrong item, It's always the same problem at root
Your Server files don't match your client files
That is the simple answer.
Match your files and it will all work as it should

Re: Skill crash
I agree to purpleyouko,
The thing is why it should match,
because the server files' aren't like RO2, or some server
that the client files and server files are needed to be match, because the .Exe's or something on the
Server files are built-in. (I know not much understanding, but some server's doesn't need to match the server w/ the client. and some server's need to match, because of the options/codings. If someone can make it more understanding. Please post or PM me so I can edit. If this is wrong, Freely Delete it.)

Re: Skill crash
The thing with rose is that the client and the server both use the resource files (STB mainly) to calculate every tiny little detail about how the game works.
Why does the ROSE client need to duplicate what the server does at every step? Maybe to make it harder to hack or emulate. Maybe the makers were just high on some designer drug or something.
Who the heck knows?
The fact is that it doses work that way so we have to make our resource files match exactly or we get crap going on.
If we want to play with rose servers then we just have to live with it.

Re: Skill crash
Easy example.
You try to use a weapon in the client that is not server side. So it'll crash.
You try to use a skill that is not in server, it'll crash or it'll be refused.
Somehow it's "logical" since when you trigger a skill in your client, the client sends a packet to server to tell "player X wants to do the skill 123". The server then checks and get skill 123 information like effects, power, if AOE or not and so on so the server can see what other player / monsters can be hit, how much...
So if your server files and client files don't match it'll go wrong.
