What's with Rose Online Official sources

So, here we are again.

I've been reading this forum for 2 weeks now, everyday, lot of posts.
Has anyone been able to build the server with Rose online official sources ?
Evo one, since we won't get any iRose sources.

iRose has been abandonned now. Who's still developping on it ? There are some little servers around here that runs arcturus, but they are not accomplished developpers (some doesn't even know how to deal with stb).

Rose Dev community should focus on Rose Evo with those sources. As AruaRose did, changing the features to be more irose-like, but still Rose Evo.
What did you guys liked about iRose ? We would all agree to say that it was the Skill system.

Why not taking the sources MeGaMaX released, and make it with iRose skill system ?

(I'm trying to do it atm, but with DevRev4, i can't run properly the server from the sources)

I would be very glad to see some more developpers. The only one i see active at the moment, trying to fixe bugs is PurpleYouko, and maybe Garnet, as i saw him saying once he was working with PY.

Rose Dev community should stop being selfish, and act like PY, Dragoon, etc, sharing, helping people (ofc not doing 100% of the job for the ones who can't install mysql-mssql). It has been selfish since the begginnign with RuffRose, and the mentality didn't change since. (Maybe i'm mistaken, but that's how i see the thing)

Rose Online is not dead yet, i just connected to AruaRose, iRosePh, RoseNA and there are still a LOT of players.

Don't let it die please.

Glad to see somehow that still has hope.

Alot of old posts yes, the new ones are very rare. Or often written in an english that is barely understandable.

I wont say I'm on Evo because yes, the skill system was not something I liked, but there were some other small things that did disapoint me.
Actually I'm working on my own ( been for almost 2 years actually ) to have something running properly for irose.

Having it running like a charm, with some new features and I'm planning on opening the server this year. Don't ask me when, You never know when you're done developing, but this year I'm sure about it.

About the behaviour of the community.. Well, in almost every communities they are people having things that others don't have right? And not willing to share them. If it is their own work, or things people gave them and trusted them on not sharing it, it is totally normal.
I think we should stop envy what other have and see what we actually have.
All the tools and sources that were released are enough to be able to create with the appropriate knowledge,willing, and alot of spare time, even if you use any of the osirose releases. Purple and whoever worked with him, (I can't remember the names sorry) did a great job with these, as for any other releases you can find on OSrose, including tools and so on.

On the one hand, about the project I'm working on, as I have been working on it for a few years now, nothing will be shared. No arrongance or selfishness here. I'm just willing to keep my hard work for my own.
On the other hand, If it happens that any creative and active developpers are looking for willing people to help on whatever I'm able to, I'm your man.

About the ammount of players I don't know. But R.O wont die that easy, it still has alot of potential and I'm doing my best to try to prove it.

I'm totally with your point, by saying you won't share your work. You are right, and i respect that. I won't be happy to see my work released there and there if it's only for my server. People should keep what is ours, but help others with other things. As i said, not by putting it in their mouth already done, but help them understand what they are doing and guide them maybe.

I would be glad to play on your server when it is out to try out some of your new features ! :)

And hey, if you know any sound artist, I'm looking for one to make BGMs, or sound effects and so on.

I haven't really done much work on rose lately.
I also haven't bothered with these files from megamax since i think they are most likely the same as the ones i already have.
My version requires a rose (evo) 137 donor client as that is the version that everything ties back into. It does have a full server but I have no interest in making that work at all.
I have a perfectly good system using a hybrid OsRose server with a 137 client containing all the files that I compiled myself.

If others are interested in persuing it as a project then I would be happy enough to host the whole thing over at osrose (where I'm still an admin.) and take a more active roll in developing it.

I'm still going on osrose forums, feel free to do it if people would like to help. I can try to help you, but we need to be at least 4 to be effective

But well. I've been working on my own for so long now I'm getting used to it, and I'm almost done too. Would have been nice to work with someone tho.

Well it's not exactly reviving anything. It's not really much like any existing evo client. But at least we can edit it if we need to.

I left everything about ROSE in september for personal reasons but sometimes i'm still working on it.
Recently i have changed the boring login introduction of the 137 client and some custom UI/Control stuff.

But i hardly see how a team can be made since the few people able to deal with theses files doesn't want the same features.
For the fews guys i tried to work with, they was not even able to make the files compile and running, but i do not blame them, it's really not easy.
And working with the code is even more difficult.

To be honest the only guy from the OS scene that i know able to work with this insane code is PurpleYouko.

i have quite a lot on at work right now.

Give me a few weeks to get everything running smoothly and I will set up a project using the 137 source and my modified osrose server.
I have a few specific ideas of where i would like to go with this but i will try to keep the main trunk code as ordinary as possible, at least until it's fully working across the board.
