Why is it that all the gb viewer's graphics I've seen look... "granny"? Take a look at KalEncyclopedia's for exemple, exactly the same...
It doesnt look anywhere as good as in Kal. Maybe it's cause of the Bloom effect of Kal?

The reason why this viewer is grainy or choppy is due to for a number of reasons. I set the stage quality to "low". It is software accelerated via the flash interpreter, talk about speed... Not like its counter part big brothers DirectX or OpenGL which use hardware acceleration, technologies such as vertex/pixel shaders, etc. Papervision3D just doesn't have that kind of access or capabilities. The use of proper lighting; I use none. And the list goes on... If you want to know how to do it with DirectX using the pixel/vertex shaders provided by Kal e-mail me.

Its prupose is for your websites, the Kal Online section "Show Room", or the world wide web in general. Since the majority of people have flash installed; No download or installation is required (broadly speaking).

Re: [DEV] Geometry Binary Flash 9 Viewer

Question, how will we go about capturing video or or an image with this? Will it be like us going into game and hitting a hotkey to trigger it on and off? or will it be like an importer, that just imports the selected models..?

It is a very simple importer. For the demo above, it is primitive, in that the file names are hard coded. The *.gb files and textures are in the same path as the *.swf and it does the rest. I've just changed the model because it uses 1/2 the bandwidth.

Re: [DEV] Geometry Binary Flash 9 Viewer

i got a 1mbit connection and it loads very fast. something about 5-10 seconds to show it.

it looks nice, but i think its a unless tool and use to much bandwith for "normal" homepages. its like that tool BakaBug made, for showing .gb files local on a comp

i got 2.3 terabyte bandwidth, that .swf file won't make that much of a difference
