eist.. what do u mean by putting the client.exe to any client folder of your choice?.. where can i find that "Client.exe"
That would be the link in the OP. "Player & GM Client with Security Info.rar" IINM.
I can enter the game now bob.. but there are no NPC's and monsters..
And you have obviously tried the "copy the files from the Char and Field folders from the client into the GameServer\Char and Gameserver\Field" folders which is quoted in every guide and many many [HELP] responses all over these forums... and I'm sure you found in the search you made before asking that question.
It's usually a good idea to point that out when you ask, just so that nobody has to make a post (like this one) that is like the usual "Have you made sure it's plugged in and turned on? Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again." and wait for the response before moving on to less common problems.
P.S. Sorry I didn't get around to answering this earlier... but I have been very tired getting home from work this week, and not had much mental power beyond checking that everybodys' playing nice and nobody is griefing anyone else.
Friday is POETS day. :thumbup1:Spoiler:
ahh.. ok.. what i did is.. when i try to copy the field folder into the root folder of the server,.. the server.exe will give me an error.
but if i remove it. and run the game.exe. it will give me no error but play the game w/no NPCs and monsters. i think there is a conflict between that field folder inside the gameserver and the field folder from the client..
"Have you made sure it's plugged in and turned on? Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again." (i dont understand this part bob.)
Yes, it sounds like it, and I know the MPT client is too customised to work with other servers.
The "Have you made sure it's plugged in and turned on?" stuff is just the sort of dumb ass question most Tech Support - Helpdesk folks have to ask right from the start, because they are simple mistakes that everybody makes and nobody thinks to check when they are panicking. 'Cos their end of year financial reports aren't coming out of the printer or whatever. The guy (or gal) on the helpdesk will otherwise spend hours debugging something complex when really it's just 'cos the cleaner unplugged the printer last night so (s)he could hoover the office. They sound like stupid questions, and can also seem massively patronising... like "What the hell do you think I am? An idiot!?" But if you don't ask and just assume that the person with the problem is sane, intelligent and (probably most importantly) thinking clearly and rationally, then it's surprising how often you spend ages looking for a very strange and unusual problem when, actually, they just forgot to flick the switch.
Back on topic... If you have no Field folder, then all NPCs and Monsters will spawn (in the servers mind) and fall through the map to oblivion. (actually, the minimum height point possible) because the server had no idea of the terrain gravity should pull them to. Without the Char folder, their models have no bounding box either, so they can pass through solid objects like the ground, and you are still in the same position.
ohw.. is that so..... so what is my next step. i think i configured the sql server and odbc well,.. do i need to change my client? or the server?.....ei.... how about my sql.dll that is found inside my server file. do i need to edit them?? its written like this:

That's up to you... but whatever you do, you will get bugs like that if you don't use a matched pair. You can use MPT client with MPT server, or Legacy client with Legacy server.
MPT still seems pretty buggy, and the admin client we have is not as up-to-date as the server, so I would probably go with the Legacy pairing for now.
The asset files you need to go with the basic executable should probably come from a basic KPT (or jPT) installation.
What I would do is:-
- Grab this download. (I know all the original links died, but continue reading till --- EDIT3 --- where I attached a fresh 7z)
- Place "KPT-Test.exe" in a new and empty folder.
- Double click "KPT-Test.exe".
That should download you a new, untouched KPT test client with all the appropriate assets. ^_^
Once you get the hang of the image files layout you can probably swap out some of the bitmaps (TGAs and BMPs) which have embedded text to ones which are in a language you find more comfortable.
ok.ill do it.... what is the difference between KPT-Release.exe and KPT-Test.exe ??
As cloak said those files are old, those features can be found in every modern repack.
The only thing you can't take from those files, even more 5 years is the designes/skins.
Here is a preview, the video was created by galyan a legacypt player.
guyz. can u post a full client of LegacyPT..
The difference depends on what the developers are doing.
The Test version contains pre-release features, where the Release version has nothing new, but may be more stable.
Both are the *now* edition... which is *much* newer than anything you will find here. So they should serve you well for some time to come. ^_^
ow thanks for that info bob.
but legacyserver features are almost working fine to me. than other servers.. so im gonna try to use both legacy server and legacy full client..
hope that i'll work fine.. (currently,im testing the KPT)
some one knows the complete GM commands?
for level 1,2,3 commands..
it will be much appreciated tnrh1.. thanks in advance...
I'm really sorry, I can't find the disk-on-key that used to host my legacypt files, I'll keep searching.
