WebServer gets an error. :(: (So I can't register)
- What error?
- Did you install BabyWeb, or are you using IIS?
- Are you sure you have no other web service running on your system?
Hi! I'm new here!
I made a working PPT server with your tutorial! Good job :D
I had a problem with NPCs and MOBs (char&field in server folder). Solved it with other hotuk.ini
But now I have a new problem: With the standard Server4096A.exe and game.exe I'm able to connect to my server. But when I extract the Alternate and replace the Server4096A.exe and the game.exe I receive the following message when trying to login:
"Connecting to SGPT!" (I wonder what SGPT is. My server name is APT) Then "Unable to connect"
So here is what I did:
Original Files> Server OK but no GM commands (then I decided to use alternate files to fix the GM commands)
Alternate Files> Unable to connect
What it could be? Maybe the game.exe is redirecting to another server???
Also I can't pick up items :/
Thanks in advance!
You can't pick up items without the alternate executables, and you are having problems connecting with those.
SGPT is Shanghai Priston Tale, which QuantumFusion was working on when he worked the alternate executables.
The alternates work on a different port, so if you changed anything in firewall / router to allow it, you will have to change that. Other than that, check out my guides on connection issues to see how you can tell which of the many frequent reasons for this you have. ^_^
I changed my firewall to allow game.exe and server, but still unable to connect.
Found your guide, everything is right except the port. My game.exe is looking for a port 5xxxxx and my Server have port 1xxxx
How do I fix that? Hotuk, ldata, ptReg, all fine.
Thanks again :)
You can't "configure" the ports used, they are hard coded into the executable. You can reverse engineer the executables and modify the assembly or, less accurately, with a hex editor.
However, if the ports of the client and server do not match, you are not using a server designed for that client. You must use alternate client with original server, or alternate server with alternate client.
If you pick a client or server from any other release you may well get similar issues. The port, and encryption are the typical way of ensuring incompatible clients do not connect to your server.
All links are broken, someone has the files?
