I get the same weird error but i tried useing mysql instead just for a joke and that didn't work so now i need help can someone pls help us like thats all i need fixed just that 1 problem pls tell me. LOL @ myself i sound so...... NOOB:blowup::idiot::detective:rule::partytime
I thought i better post the soloution that got given to me (i don't get the credit) Change the server name to local host or ur computers name or SQLEXPRESS.

tks Ratten :), Now, I've got all steps to go, but I'm still stuck at the step of setting up ODBC. I entered the name "c8master" & chose my server. After clicking "Next" twice, it always says "Connection failed".

ah, I've got the answer :)
Just open the management tool, copy the name of the server and paste it in the box of server name in the step setting up ODBC.
It's simple, but took me a lot of time :(
