    An alternative to Hamachi

Hey guys not sure if you are interested but, I found a simple program to use to make your Servers online and it is free. Give me a shout cuz I am still looking for all the Zone Server files to make my server complete. I have decided to build a server which will only cost me $300 thank god. LOL. Anyhow the site to check out is no-ip.com. If you use the server client provided by the no-ip.com then the only thing you need to do is change the Server List in the game client to match the IP for the program provided by no-ip. It gives you a dynamic IP address and forwards your server automatically. You don't even need to change the IP in the server client for the game. Just set it up as though you were intent on using it on a LAN. Very simple right? Enjoy.

Also I found a site for you guys to use to setup your game site. Again it is free with one requirement to log in at least 1 time in 30 days. It has unlimited file storage and will work great for using your game client. I have not tried this site but, wanted to share. Please let me know how this works for you guys. Ok? And please help me if you can to get all the Server Zones. Share and share alike.

nope, even though you have free public ip. you still have to do port forwarding.

I don't know about anybody else but, my router needed no further alterations and is still stock. I didn't need to do any port forwarding. I was able to use this software without doing anything more than just simply changing the game client to the address provided, which by the way it is your actual modem address. But infinium may be correct which depends on your router configuration.

Infinium I remembered how I did it to setup no-ip without doing port forwarding LOL. I simply put my server in the DMZ zone LOL. It was the easiest way to do it but, not recommended to all who value security.
And as far as x10hosting it's the ability to utilize it for web hosting but, also includes file storage so the client software can be easily made available. But, like I said I haven't tried it. I like your site infinium but, do you have to pay for it?

it's just free web hosting to, and it doesn't required you to atleast enter once a day, a week, a month nor even a year. that's what free web hosting is all about. still trying to use no-ip, i can't ping my server with other computer

    Re: An alternative to Hamachi

Try settting it up for LAN, run DBSRV, MSGSRV ect. with zones then run no-ip. Setup your client Server list to the IP that is provided by no-ip which should be your modem IP and run client. It is by far easier to put your server in DMZ so you don't have to use port forwarding for each zone unless you have a $600 router that will allow you to use the amount of ports required. My router does not allow for more than 30 ports to be forwarded at one time so that is why I put my server in DMZ on the router to bypass port forwarding. Also I am using 2 routers in line with one another for test purposes. I need to know how you have it setup so that people can register on the website to make a new account and tie it in with the server so that it won't require manual account installation.

Another question for you Infinium. Do you have a batch file that starts all servers including the zone servers or do you manually open each zone?

OK I lied I have another question. LOL. What are the specs for your server and your internet speed for it?

i haven't set it up with no-ip but thanks for the tutorial that enlighten me a lot. i'll try that once i got to my development area. no i don't have batch file, i'm using yagamy's tool in opening my server. it's a software wherein buttons are connected to the path of .exe of each zone, dbsrv and etc.

Where can I get yagamy's tool?

Nevermind I can do that manually. But, I am going to create a batch file so it will only require one thing be pressed to open all the .exe's. Thanx bud for the info..

Hamachi is a VPN service, x10hosting is a webhost.
They do not provide any port altering or port forwarding. Basicly they host the files and you run the scripts. You will still need to portforward.

Jayden check out the website that I have provided. This is an alternative to Hamachi. If the server is put into the DMZ zone then port forwarding is no longer needed.

    Re: An alternative to Hamachi

Just setup the server as though you were intending on using it as a LAN.(Example server IP of mine is 192.168.0.5) Run no-ip. Then change the IP of the game client to match the IP address in no-ip client.(Example mine is 174.x.x.x) **It doesn't matter if you start no-ip first of last. Just make sure you have started DBSRV, MSGSRV, Zones.** I have done it and tried using my neighbor's internet with success. The game client can be run from the server if you have no other computer available. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate with my server.(AMD64X2 4000+ processor, 4gigs or RAM) Also I noticed that your server can only use one network interface. I was running both wifi and ethernet but, disabled the wifi. On another note setup your server and router to use a static IP as well but, like using LAN(example 192.168.x.x)and set your server in DMZ. I have found it interesting that I am able to use multiple versions of the client with my server and it still works fine.

Hey bro if you have ever created a batch file it is easy lol. Takes all the guess work out of what to start but, ya I would love to have a copy of yagamy's tool.

This is the way I setup my batch file named - Tantra.bat

    @echo off
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\DBSRV_K4\DBSRV\DBSRV.exe
    start C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\MSGSRV_k4\MSGSRV\MSGSRV.exe
    ping 192.168.0.5
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone1\Zone_1.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone2\Zone_2.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone3\Zone_3.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone4\Zone_4.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone5\Zone_5.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone6\Zone_6.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone7\Zone_7.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone8\Zone_8.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone9\Zone_9.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone10\Zone_10.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone11\Zone_11.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone12\Zone_12.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone13\Zone_13.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone14\Zone_14.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone15\Zone_15.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone16\Zone_16.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone17\Zone_17.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone18\Zone_18.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone20\Zone_20.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone21\Zone_21.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone22\Zone_22.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone24\Zone_24.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone25\Zone_25.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone26\Zone_26.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone27\Zone_27.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone28\Zone_28.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone29\Zone_29.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone30\Zone_30.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone31\Zone_31.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone32\Zone_32.exe
    start /min C:\Tantra_Server_Beginning\TantraZones\Zone33\Zone_33.exe
    exit

I had to create the batch file in the command prompt first but, was able to edit it in Windows.
