hey bro use xampp 1.6.4 which you can download at this site. As far as compatibility is concerned you still need to configure it with ntwdblib.dll which you can google for the steps in order to install it. Old Version of Xampp 1.6.4 Download - OldApps.com

i got this error on xampp 1.6.4
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mssql_pconnect() in C:\xampp\htdocs\conec.php on line 5

i add ntwdblib.dll on this location "\xampp\apache\bin" and "\xampp\php"
i also check the extension at the php.ini and all 2 mssql is loaded.
any help pls..

you need to download a compatible ntwdblib.dll like i said this will fix your problems and google it for the steps to install it trust me it works

ntwdblib.dll is needed to make mssql_pconnect work the newer versions of xampp do not have mssql_pconnect instead it uses a newer version that is not compatible with the older version of xampp. they say there is a fix for it but, the way i did it was much easier to do.
