[Tutorial] How to setup 'The Forgotten Server'

NOTE:This requires Mysql knownledge and portforwarding experience.

Step 1:
Portforward port '7171' UDP&TCP.

Step 2:
Download 'The Forgotten Server'; http://forum.ragezone.com/f406/8-1-f...l-only-374875/

Step 3:
Configure 'config.lua', bold marked places are things you should/must change:

Step 4:
Query forgottendb.sql in your Mysql server via phpmyadmin or any other mysql manager.

Step 5:
Put it online, now you got a basic OTS!

... Good tut but it would be better if you putted the link for mysql you know there is some "newbies" that dont understand mysql...

When i try to connect it says
only gamemasters and when i use
account manager everytime i say something
it gives me a warning :S

To get rid of the gamemasters thingy, remove 'GAMEMASTER' in properties of your shortcut at the end.

Get the lua5.1.dll...simple as that. Did you even read the error?

Google for Lua, and download the binary files.

I didn't have "libxml2-2.dll", just copied "libxml2.dll", renamed and it work :>

Hmm, perhaps sqlite3.dll is outdated...not sure about this one.

Change in config.lua sql lite to mysql.

ok i got it all working but there are no npc =/ when i try adding a npc using map editor it still doesntshow them... any ideas??

Add the spawn correctly in the world folder.
