i highly Doubt that Nexon would ever try Going 3d... 1.) it is a change in everything.. things would be in different places... it would be like starting maple story brand new. 2.) Most people i know would quit.

Most users playing MapleStory have G-Cards that would barely run a 3D setting like that. They speculated this in 2007 too, but it never happened. Nexon doesn't have the funds to completely re-create a source as complex as theirs.
Doubt Nexon would do this. Even if they did their player list would be cut drastically because of people not having that great grafix cards. Which would mean private server would get a hell lot of more players :\. Also for some people like me who hate some 3d mmorpg games it would be pretty gay
It will be amazing when Nexon get work on 3D MapleStory.

I've never find a 3D game that I stayed with for more then a day. Ironicaly, i downloaded one today and deleted it after about 20 minuts. I think the whole 2D aspect of MapleStory is what makes MapleStory MapleStory, if you get what I mean. I'd so definitely quit if they changed to 3D. People love MapleStory because of the Big-headed 2D characters and the deformed mushrooms lol. I've never found a game that could equalize that.

You can't 'guess' if Nexon has the funds or not to do whichever (by pure speculation).
It's really unlikely they will change the gameplay of MapleStory (2d->3d).
The only reason I play MapleStory still is because it is 2D. Making it 3D is, more likely than not, going to cost the game everything it has already.
Zygon is right. MapleStory's 2D Animations has those childish
things in it, And this makes it fun to play and travel.
If they go 3D, They should prepare to lose 90% of thier players.
