I was wondering.. I read somewhere that the reason Nexon can sue you, is cuz you're using their localhost.

Well my question is.. what if there is another way to start the game? Wouldn't that GG nexon? Anyone?

Also if you're using an re-director can they still sue you?

A non-nexon client is already in the works, not completed yet but it's still going through great progress nonetheless.

After that, we would have to not use .wz files and their images.

This may not apply online, but in general if you create or start something too similar you can still be sued for that.

Using those WZ files however, is illegal.

At this point, if using their clients, images and files to make your own private server is illegal, then you're better off just creating your own game - to stay legal.

I haven't heard much of Renoria lately. IIRC, even though it was original, Nexon still gave David some shit for it. (probably for using their images as foobar graphics)

What's the point of a non-nexon client if it contains like everything. Private server in maple will always remain illegal, so it doesn't matter what client used

It's illegal because we modify their client and wz files. If somebody, god bless his soul, changed all the wz files contents, and made a client, we would no longer be illegal.
