Nexon will always be more attractive to people than private servers can ever be. No matter the size/popularity of the server. Nexon has the original feeling of GMS. They fucked it up quite a bit, but they're still nostalgic to alot of people. Not to mention new players who will play the original game before they play a private server, if they ever even go to private.
You know, I remember the entire v55 stage. But people only really went to private servers for 3 reasons, they got tired of Nexon messing up, they like the idea of GM's being online with the players, and to level up faster.
To be honest, if a PrivateServer fixed all of the bugs Nexon couldn't, had active GM's, v55 and somewhat medium high rates, there would be a lot of players.
However, a lot of people also went to Private Servers because they like the feeling of being a GM. Simply because you get a lot of player attention and get to do cool stuff. :D
And right now, Nexon isn't looking too attractive. So opening one of these servers would be a pretty dang good idea.
v55 was the bomb i had a server. I still know how to code it if you wanna start 1
