help please!
Le bump!
I remade the whole system.
So go check out the first post.
Would like to get some feedback on the new stuff :blush:
@above sorry for not answering. I totally forgot I had released something here. If you are still searching for a solution either re-add the new system or remove the dropYellow function.
I assume you are using Xeon. It's different there.
ini file? why not making it SQL based with it's own table ...
Because I can.
Sure, I could store it in the Database.
But I'm not going to open the Query Browser every time I want to edit a Quest. Just opening the file is faster imo.
Besides, does it make really a different where I load the data from?
Nonetheless, I think I'm going to simply add another way to store and load data. And add a selection of property and sql storage.
That is so stupid, wow.
@baws
I like the improvements but its so.... hmm how should I put this, large. I get lost looking through it (not to say it doesn't make sense) but good job nonetheless.
Also, two things.
1. Why ini? Did you just pick something or was there a concrete reason?
2. When using switch you don't need to go outside the switch block and do return 0; as a default. Just use default:

because you could have like 2 tables, one for the quest registered by players (so it's not limited to 2 quest at once) and one for the quest itself.

keep calling me an insignificant insect on msn. you're funny.
when I finally start improving myself at coding, you immediately blame it all on google, netbean and javadoc. Let me tell you one thing, you really are one stuck up bitch.
Also you contradict yourself. you're telling me that i'm stupid for suggesting him to make it database based instead but later on in your post you're questioning him why he used an ini.
@oxysoft
It's limited to 1 quest at once :P
But yeah, that's actually a good idea.
Gonna work on that!
Thanks
@Soulfist
There was no real reason why I picked .ini
I wanted to have it stored in a file, instead of the database, to
edit them faster and have a better overview imo.
As for the switch, I didn't know that. Thanks
For what he's doing SQL is a bad idea, simple as that. (However if he wanted to change how his system "worked" using a database would be better for storing larger quantities of quest data, more similar to GMS-like quests) And you are an insignificant insect :o, I only call you what you are. I am pretty funny though. I'm not even going to get into the bolded part because I've explained it countless times to you. You also should improve you english because stuck-up seriously is poor word choice. And no, it shows even moreso how little thought capacity you have if you think there is any form of contradiction here; you obviously can't read so elaborating would be a waste of time.
You just contradicted yourself...
Oh and let me get this straight with you:
1. You're not funny.
2. You're the insect if anything. Just kidding, you're more like a puppet if anything.
3. Word choice shouldn't matter because it's a fucking forum that's full of idiots, so trying sounding smart to everyone because you carry a thesaurus in your fucking pocket won't make you any cooler.
4. your english*
5. SQL is a good idea for this release.
You are quite the hypocrite yourself. First off, poor word choice doesn't mean crap. You can have terrible word choice, but as long as the meaning gets across to the reader, it's the same message.
Second, it's extremely hypocritical to bitch about how people call you "fagfist" and such, yet you don't even realize why they call you such names, which is clearly grievous on your part as you show it by picking verbal fights with people. Calling people insects? What are you, some kind of "bully", tough guy?
Third, stop acting high and almighty because you can use a thesaurus to make your writing sound better. We all go to school; maybe we just don't feel like typing up English papers to make a clear, obvious point across.[I know this post itself contradicts that, but I really just need to say something.] You act as if you're more mature than everyone else, yet by picking fights you not only don't look mature; you have sunken to an even lower level compared to everyone else.
You act like you're a professional at coding, yet you don't even realize that you're making code for an ILLEGAL game server. [Also, before you point it out I know I'm a beginner at coding, but everyone needs to start somewhere.] If you were really good and mature about it, you would teach people instead of calling them insects.
Also, no one besides you thinks that you're funny. Therefore, I'm pretty sure that doesn't make you funny; being humorous is a characteristic, character is defined by not you, but by the people around you. And honestly, I don't think many people here would have a positive character to describe you with.
Finally, if you're really going to argue with people ONLINE, THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW AS A REAL PERSON, at least do it somewhere other than the release section of ragezone; you're adding pages and pages of "spam" all over things that can be really useful.
I seriously used to think you were a cool guy, but I've quickly started to lose respect for you with every post you make. I could honestly go on and on describing what is wrong with you, but that would be a waste of time for everyone. Therefore, I'll stop here.
OT: Sorry mods/OP, I know that wasn't my place to speak out/it is completely irrelevant to the thread, but I am seriously getting tired of just seeing this guy picking arguments with people. And I know I may contradict myself through this entire post, but I just wanted to bring up which was probably on everyone's [well it was at least on mine] mind, just reading these ridiculous posts.

I'd prefer it to go through the SQL as well.. seems more convenient in my book.
Nice release I think, will take a better look at it when I get time. And you're all insects. /hehe
Next update is like half done.
I'm stuck at one point, tho.
Don't know how to handle the kill count.
Opening a new connection to the database every time someone kills a mob doesn't seem to be a good idea.
Another way would be through lists, but this might turn out in messy code.
Maybe someone knows a solution?
(btw I'm talking about multi-questing and sql based storage)
