Why don't you register MAC instead of IP?
yeah mac would be
or maybe dynamic dns lol
Well I guess I can change it to MAC o-o maybe tommrow.
anyways
@johnlth93 oops i guess it is Staff Mod please edit it :)
@Fraysa I answered to that question already.
@Shawn I guess that's a problem if admin cant protect his IP o-o
This release is just too stupid, I'd rather not have this instead of taking risk and adding this. If you were bored, just do other better things instead of wasting time on this. Personally, I think this is retarded and useless. Nice try though.
Eh, I'm more comfortable with my GMs having only 1 GM character each. It avoids confusion among the players and its unnecessary.
MACs are even easier to change than IPs. (Google: TMAC V5 R3 / Technitium TMAC)
Btw, a proxy cannot fake an IP (Internet doesn't work that way), so IP is safer ... unless your ISP does DHCP and your IP changes constantly... But what are the chances that the next person to get your IP also plays your server? ;D
Well I have an idea, once you make someone IPGM in the SQL it'll be like that:
hisAccountName | hislastIPonThatAccount
So I can do that if lets say your IP changed, you need to log to your original account (the one that the admin use !setipgm command on him) and your ip on the SQL will update, cool huh ?
Because as a GM you dont have access to the DB, and as an Admin I dont think you want to edit each GM IP once it changes.
