When I create a character I don't see the character on the character select screen.

Then you didn't configured your Ascent config files right or you have the wrong Character database version.

Sorry for you guys who have waited really long for the newest rev's.
I didn't had the time to test this one out but it should work.

Rev4639 has been added and the newest moonscripts 430 for rev 4639.
I know the newest moon is 433 but this one is not available for ascent but for Arcemu.
