[Release] Howling's Funserver Pack V4-Warp NPC, Morph NPC and more added

So, I'm slightly confused on how to actually use this repack. I'll openly admit, that I've completely and utter hesitated on posting on here for help due to slight embarrassment but I have no other choice. I've download the pack via the link on the first page, extracted to the c:\ like it states, but after that I'm confused. I use to run my own server long long ago, and back then I needed to create several databases. I tried this at first, and it didn't work. I then continued to read through out the thread and saw people say that it was "integrated" in already... So is there a guide to can show me how to set this son of a bitch up?

Help me with my newbness... because I keep getting an error when I when I try to start up the logon and world server something along the lines of the side-by-side configuration is wrong... check the event log for details. NO clue what event log it in referring too.

Could someone please help me. Make some type of new friendly guide to this thing.

Ok, I found how it's integrated.. but I still get a "side-by-side config error when I go to start up logon server then the world server... Anyone know what this means?

Ok, So i figured out how to correct the side-by-side config. If you are using vista, you still need to run the install for netframe shit 3.5. Here's my last problem. I get the site up (mysql and apache) and I get both servers (logon and world) up, when I try to connect using either an account I made or the admin/admin account, it get's hooked at "HAND SHAKING" Anyone else have this problem and know how to correct? I'm doing the best I can trying to solve this alone... but some type of response would be nice.

Krugnar11, enter navicat or what you have for sql,make 2 new databases: one logon and one ncdb and execute the databases sqls if you want to use only the databases :P

Arithian, i didn't give any ascent source in my repack, delete the source you have and try again.

Miekster, Do you have patch 2.4.0? If so you need to downgrade to 2.3.3 cause 2.4.0 isn't supported yet by any repack.

Just so happens I do have 2.4.0 and before you go this is a 2.3.3 version, you mean to say that if i change the accepted build to min 7799 max 8125 and still won't work? This is a server I plan on playing around on by myself so I figured that just meant the new zones and what not would cause it to crash if I went there...

I shall make another copy for 2.3.3, you claim that will allow it to go straight through instead of hanging at "Hand Shaking"?

*****Vista 32-bit/64-bit Fixes******

I've learned there are several things that could cause you to have several problems with vista, so here are some quick fixes.

1.) Vista put in a new thing called DNS Broadcast Flag could effect you and your IP... I recomment disabling it (you do it via your registry... microsoft's website will show you how... extremely easy)

2.) Side - by - Side config error. Simple run the .NET 3.5 installation in the pack. I know that supposedly vista is suppose to come with this already ... yea well... this is microsoft we're talking about.

Those are the two biggest vista problems. Quick and easy to fix. Enjoy!

Yeah Miekster, if you have a 2.3.3 wow there should be no problems now to logon :)

Thanks coldmouth. Sorry for the bother there, I just figured I could kind of beat the system as long as I chose to stay out of the 2.4.1 area's *shrugs*. Do you have any idea as to when a 2.4 core will be released? I'm new to the wow pserver community again. Last time I was here to host a pserver the big thing to use was WowwoW (I doubt any most of you even remember that project...) ;)

The 2.4 core already exists and it's working, but Burlex - the Ascent head developer chooses when he will release it since he owns it xD

Wheres the source, I have looked all around and cant find it...

Yeah, that's what fun focus on, PVP and many custom scripts, items :), but in the next release there will be a pure blizzlike pack too:P

Cold you maby release it on 2.3 core as V5 and when 2.4 is out maby you got some more stuff and call it V6 ^^

hi bro, incase i using current package v4, when u released the new version on next release, is it possible to use old database v4 (migrate or upgrade) without losing any data ?

Why when players buy pvp (legendary) weapon, after a teleport all weapon will be gone?
