Client Versions

Heya! It's probably a long shot, but I'm wondering if there is any way to allow 3.0 clients to connect to my 2.4.3 server. Is there a way to trick the server into thinking the user is using 2.4.3?

A vast majority of my friends are now upgraded to 3.0+ and would like to connect to the server, and none of them happened to make a backup 2.4.3 folder just incase XD

ye its possable, cant remember if its the config files or its the c++ you need to edit, but just edit the max client build to 99999 and then everyone over 2.4.3 is able to connect ^_^

Yeah its in the mangos config file, all the way at the bottom. You should see:

MinBuild: XXXX
MaxBuild: XXXX

Change MaxBuild to "9999" and everyone will be able to connect.

Although this could cause your server to act irregular, because the people with the newer versions will most likely have updated versions of stuff in your server that isnt up to date on the server, Not sure but i dont know if i would allow this :D
