For the host file in system 32 does that file basically forward your localhost to your ip of choice?

Nice repack and good to see its uploaded to filebeam ,
and not all the other spam advert hosts :)
It seems my issue with the npc's was tied to a command. I am also testing the server over the internet with a friend atm and we encountered an error on the website. Anyone know what I did wrong here (see attached). I followed Kevin's guide to the letter, but I noticed there was a missing file in my server package "\diskw\home\admin\www\config.inc.php"
I am running with the latest update for amber as well and I did make the changes to my host directory.
No updates :( bleeh
I managed to make the server start working on my computer, but after I tried to change some stuff it stopped working...
And also, I can't get my friends to connect to the server! Don't realy know where to change the ip (with those from no-ip... Even though I carefully read the readme xD) It doesn't extract the vmaps either...
The guide Kevin posted was really decent and all I can do is make it a bit more simple to follow with pictures. So here I go:
Addresses to know:
http://www.whatsmyip.org <--- For those who don't know how to find their external IP.
http://www.no-ip.com <--- A more secure way of posting your ip accross the net.
http://www.dyndns.com <--- same with this one as well.
Changing your hosts:
Step 1: Click on "My Computer" and double click on the drive with your windows installation.
Step 2: Navigate to (based on winxp 32) C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\. The files should like this below:
Here you should see a file named hosts. I have highlighted it in the image to make it easier. Double Click on hosts and select "notepad" to view the file with.
Step 3a Lan only: To run the server in lan you will want to change the first line from 127.0.0.1 localhost to <insert LAN IP here> localhost.
Step 3b Lan + external: If you want to add an external host simply goto the next line and type in your external ip and then the address (if your using no-ip or dyndns). Here is a picture of what it should look like below:
Changing the IP's in Amber so your server will work:
Database Changes:
Step 1: run the amber GUI and start only the apache and mysql services so you can connect into the DB.
Step 2: Run SQLyog from the amber gui to enter the database.
Step 3: Once you have connected to the database goto realmd>realmlist and on the right side of the screen select "table data". Example listed below:
Step 4: Change the address from 127.0.0.1 to your no-ip/dyndns/external ip.
As kevin also suggested it is a wise idea to change your sql username/passwords as he suggests here:
Hopefully this is a little easier to follow.Originally Posted by Kevin94
The problem is, i'm missing the whole etc map which includes the hosts file, is there any way too restore that map?
I would say to completely re-install the server from scratch.
I can't seem to make the website to work... Have any ideas of what it should be? It redirects to my router's page =(
And the file "config.inc.php" is missing. I did install again, but no luck. It just wasen't there

No, still not there xD I wonder what happened XD
Server status: up and running.
I've got one more question; Beside the fact that i LOVE the minimanager, it saves me lots of messing with SQL tables etc. But, i'm still wondering; How can i make custom area's, spawn buildings etc? Is there any map editor for or something? It would be awesome too have a custom map where people can teleport too :)
Thanks.
