I appologise for this question as it might seem really stupid but is it possible to downgrade the client from 3.1.1 to 3.0.9?

Either that or is it possible to allow clients with the 3.1.1 client to connect to the server?

You create a DK just like you would any other character class in the game. However, your user account needs to have another character at a certain level (default is 55) before the option is available.

Either levelup a character to 55, or reduce the level required in your mangosd.conf file.
e.g. MinLevelForHeroicCharacterCreating = 10

...to the firstpost. Installer should transfer your conf file settings across now! Im working on parsing the config.php files next, but its proving much harder than processing a conf file nvm patience will win in the end :P:

Just some feedback....I noticed that when installing a fresh base V7624 install, followed by the v7689 update, the amber.gui database directory locations are not being updated to c:\Mangos\V7689.... after the update. Therefore running the AmberGUI application after the update, actually runs the v7624 version, not the v7689 as expected. A manual fix is required to get them working properly.

yeah thats right, you have to put the correct directory in the gui .INI

thanks for the help, but i have ohter problem, when i log in to game it says :" your account is authorized for the wrath of the lich king expansion, but the computer you are playing on does not contain Wrath of the litch king data.To play on this machine with this accont, you must install the Wrath of the litc king."

my client version is: 3.0.9 (9551) Release Feb 3 2009.

What is the command to add or learn skills, this command .learnsk or .mod skill doesn't work. I'm not asking for this command .learn all etc as I know many of you will say that, in fact I can't find it anywhere on the internet for that matter what the right command is to add seperate skills. So can the creator of mangos amber server tell me? I need the command to learn separate skills for example, axe skill or sword skill or leather skill so I can wear leather armor etc

why vmaps dont works can't create vmaps give errors

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

I'm having problems making the website public. I've forwarded port 80 and have configured my firewall to allow connections through port 80. I'm stumped as to why I can't access the webpage externally. I can access it internally using my ip address with no dramas.

Any help here would be muchly appreciated. :)

Ok Man you must be blind, not know how to read, or something really retarded. Even I understand what he meant when he said check the main page for a DK Guide. He means just that. Surely you can read where it says ambergui, death knight, quests, trainers [Guide] AmberGUI V7689 Death Knight Walkthrough with QUEST and TRAINER fixes.

How is that hard to see on the page before this one? Next time look before saying someone did not try helping.

I have just finished a Death Knight walkthrough that I had previously promised, and since it is too long to place in this thread, I have made a seperate thread for it in the Main Thread Section (Don't know what to call it actually!!).

As to your specific request, check out the commands in the commands table located in the mangos database. I know how to get skill id numbers ( Type ".lookup skill xxxxx", where xxxxx is the skill name.) I just don't know how to add the skills in game.

I'll get back to you later.

RTFM !! common doesnt anyone read the manual / helps...its all very easy folowing the guide provided

look in the manual under NETWORKS

to make your character / selected chaarcter learn a spell, use:

.learn <id>

where <id> is the id of the spell you want to learn.

I have given it a look-over, and strangely, the system behaves differently with skills and spells.

To add a skill, use the ".setskill" command after using ".lookup skill xxxx" where xxxx is the entire or part of the skill being searched.

Syntax: .setskill #skill #level [#max]
Set a skill of id #skill with a current skill value of #level and a maximum value of #max (or equal current maximum if not provided) for the selected character. If no character is selected, you learn the skill.

I can't seem to find a command which removes skills, I assume that ".setskill #skillid 0" removes it...but haven't tested it yet.

The strange thing is that in the mangos database, playercreateinfo_spell table, there are spell ids provided for the various skills of the various character types. Its like there is a spell which awards a skill. One way, is to look at the table, find the skill you want, get the spellid, and ".learn" it.

Yeah I've ntoiced that with skills too - i've utilised it a few times, as sometimes I've found .setskill doesn't work if the player doesn't have that skill already (Mainly for Riding, but I've come across it at other times)
