Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
First of all thanks to shivajiva101 for this pack. It rocks!!
Just one question.
I have had to change the drive letter from W to O, (have mapped network drives). But when I do this the backup util tells me "files not found".
Can you maybe tell me where to modify the script to look at the new drive?
Thanks

ALSO Im getting an red error with something about:character_battleground doesn't exist.. evrytime Im opening the server. And it says something about unable to connect to the MySql database access denied..
Post your install logs pls but my guess is your firewall hasn't allowed the installer/GUI full access...

another question what about the website and the characters inventory isnt working yet
just a suggestion shivajiva101 you should make a pack of updates or core structure patches because most of this red console messages are because there is some missing info in th DB when upgrading from one to another most of them the mangos db and the characters db....
Post your install logs pls but my guess is your firewall hasn't allowed the installer & gui full access...
Seriously do you think that I would release an update that didn't include the core sql updates either compiled as a linear sql or coded search and import the latter being the method employed for the latest update...obviously if the installer fails to import these updates because it cannot launch or worse still connect to the mysql server then the issues are with your machines setup...

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
see this post about Ulduar...
AmberGUI *db export fixed* HERE
Seems I was creating the path string too early so it grabbed the default not the user setting to form the path for mysqldump nvm now its got its own sub called on start and when user changes setting in gui :blushing:

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Thanks for the gui fix :)
Works like a charm

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Hi I have the Full Pack on v8386 and I downloaded the update v8415 an for some reason when importing the sql on it own it keeps bring up errors about an unknown colunm, this is what it says
ERROR 1054 (42s22) at line 2: Unknown column 'required_8030_02_characters_character_action' in 'character_db_version'
ERROR 1054 (42s22) at line 2: Unknown column 'required_7938_01_realmd_account' in 'realmd_db_version'
ERROR 1054 (42s22) at line 2: Unknown column 'required_8254_01_mangos_spell_proc_event' in 'db_version'
And so forth witht he rest. My Mysql is on an I can connect to with v8386, so whats wrong with that.
Also it imports the r file sql's fine

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
@Diabolix - If I could find a suitable replacement I'd replace it but thats proving fruitless, so Im afraid the only way to deal with it is to load the site into DW or Kompozer and use search to follow the functions till you understand the code! I guess I will have to make some moves to sort it if the dev has become inactive...so a todo list is required to fix the major flaws, can you generate this?
@xzeusx - seems like the database isn't at its original version, I assume you quoting v8386 is just a typo? Basically after a core update is applied the rev is stored in the db_version table that way it should always be obvious if a required update wasn't applied and which one so look in the table and see what the last applied update was to understand where it all went wrong:wink:
Oh btw Im updating the miniServer this will remove the need to mount the mysql/apache servers on a virtual drive and will bring a host of features in terms of administration of mysql/apache and it will allow me to make a repack that will function on a machine that already has mysql installed etc...

Looks like your trying to install a older update or you can get this if you try to install the same patch twice. shivajiva not sure if its a bug or just me but when installing a patch the assembler never starts. It just gets stuck on starting assembler... I left it to run over night while I slept and was still trying to run when I woke up 8 hours later. Probably just me. I usually just skip it and run it thru the GUI afterwards.

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Hmm will check but everything's about to change with the new miniServer as Im recoding installer/gui. What does interest me is the fact that its the same code for both exe's but the installer fails whilst the gui doesn't and the fact that I need to manage the extraction required option to only show when its required to make the update function!

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Hi Shivajiva
Will you please consider compiling a amber GUI version supporting WoW patch 3.2. I know you have given a whole speech on why you aren't going to do it (I have read it). But I would just like it for some bug testing etc.
Having said that, before you jump down my throat with another essay on why its a bad idea (and I do agree its a bad idea for a production server), you do not even have to officially release it in this thread. Simply host it, and e-mail me with the URL :)
typhoonbot@gmail.com
Thank you for all you have done with this amazing GUI.
Regards

Well, I'm not trying to update a older version, I downloaded the new Full Pak of v8286 and downloaded the v8415 and thats what i get every time i download it and install it. its really weird bcuz i been downloading Mangos for a while now an that never happen to me before. Only started to happen with this update.
Also is there a Sql script to workaround some of the WOTLK Quest. Like the quest Death comes from a high. instead of typeing or having a gm come to do it for you.

Ill start making a list asap! :)

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Hello everyone
I am new to this server stuff, about 3 weeks now. I was able to install a trinity repack successfully and it turn out good. But I wanted to explore some other repacks before i made up my mine. This one seems promising. I love the installer.
Everything seems to be working fine until i start world 1. realm works great. It will start, but after a minute or so, I get a windows error. It says "mangosd.exe has stopped working Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. -> Check online for a solution and close program -> Close program

I am not finding any database errors at all.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, 4gigs ram, 3.6ghz 4 core amd, and i have the netframework 3.5 sp1.
Like I said before, I was able to work a trinity server repack with this setup, so the computer itself should be good.
Anyone else run into this before? Or anyone have a fix for it? I really want to try to get this repack to work, has me interested.
Thank you,
Skeksis

Re: - MaNGOS ~Amber~ Releases 3.x.x
Well scratch my last post, seems to be working now. I am not sure what changed, but its staying on so far.
Is there a GM Vendor .sql for gm island for this repack? I used one for a Trinity Core repack everything is there with the exception of the portals and the spell trainer that sits just outside the building door.
So far this server is working pretty well. The web is nice. Good job on this.
