You create a DK just like you would any other character class in the game. However, your user account needs to have another character at a certain level (default is 55) before the option is available.Quote:

Just some feedback....I noticed that when installing a fresh base V7624 install, followed by the v7689 update, the amber.gui database directory locations are not being updated to c:\Mangos\V7689.... after the update. Therefore running the AmberGUI application after the update, actually runs the v7624 version, not the v7689 as expected. A manual fix is required to get them working properly.Quote:

What is the command to add or learn skills, this command .learnsk or .mod skill doesn't work. I'm not asking for this command .learn all etc as I know many of you will say that, in fact I can't find it anywhere on the internet for that matter what the right command is to add seperate skills. So can the creator of mangos amber server tell me? I need the command to learn separate skills for example, axe skill or sword skill or leather skill so I can wear leather armor etc

why vmaps dont works can't create vmaps give errors
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
I'm having problems making the website public. I've forwarded port 80 and have configured my firewall to allow connections through port 80. I'm stumped as to why I can't access the webpage externally. I can access it internally using my ip address with no dramas.

I can't seem to find a command which removes skills, I assume that ".setskill #skillid 0" removes it...but haven't tested it yet.
The strange thing is that in the mangos database, playercreateinfo_spell table, there are spell ids provided for the various skills of the various character types. Its like there is a spell which awards a skill. One way, is to look at the table, find the skill you want, get the spellid, and ".learn" it.

Yeah I've ntoiced that with skills too - i've utilised it a few times, as sometimes I've found .setskill doesn't work if the player doesn't have that skill already (Mainly for Riding, but I've come across it at other times)
Using .learn for the skills as well works quite well - and then to remove it you can use ".unlearn <id>"

I have a problem. :( Recently i reinstalled amber because an update, I made backups of everything through the amberGUI's DB Export. Now here is the problem when i loaded them (done it through the mini-manager and amberGUI's DB Import and none worked) it seemed fine but when i started world 1 it loaded properly i thought but told me something about starting up anti-freeze thread and crashed sometime after that. I also recall some error from the AHBot that it couldn't load the item because it didn't exist but i have disabled ahbot and all. Im gratefull if someone could figure this out! :)

However i'm getting a error message when starting the server in the mangos.exe window it says something along the lines of:
VMap file data/server1/wotlk/vmaps/000_43_31.vmdir is missing or point to wrong version vmap file, redo maps with latest vmap_assembler.exe program. Correct *.map files not found in path data/server1/wotlk/vmaps/ and so on.
I'm using wow wotlk 3.09 and Amber v7624.
Is this normal? If not what could be the problem?
read my post, it says when u finish all of that, look inside your C:\MaNGOS\Data\server1\WOTLK and C:\MaNGOS\Data\server2\WOTLK, in there the maps will be outside of the vmap folder, all you have to do is, copy and paste it into your vmap folder and there you go, your server will run with out a problemQuote:

Don't suppose you know why certain addons like the Calendar stops working after a while, it's apparently been blocked from an action only avaible to the blizzard ui. What does this mean I wonder?
This also happens with other things like trainer ui.
It seems after a few warnings they just stop working.

alright guys i fixed my rates!
this is how i did it, im not sure which 1 was it but o well i got it fixed
u go to
C:\MaNGOS\v7624 and open your mangosd.conf and change your rates to your desire
then you go to
C:\MaNGOS\v7624\server2 and do the same as the first 1 except now this is server 2,
and note 7624 is your main one, as v7689 is just the update
next you go to your update version
C:\MaNGOS\v7689
open up your mangosd.conf and change it to the same settings as u changed 7624
and do the same to server2
example:
Rate.Drop.Item.Poor = 100
Rate.Drop.Item.Normal = 100
Rate.Drop.Item.Uncommon =80
Rate.Drop.Item.Rare = 40
Rate.Drop.Item.Epic = 30
Rate.Drop.Item.Legendary = 20
Rate.Drop.Item.Artifact = 10
Rate.Drop.Item.Referenced = 5
Rate.Drop.Money = 100
Rate.XP.Kill = 100
Rate.XP.Quest = 100
Rate.XP.Explore = 100
now you can change your rates to any you like as server 1 and server 2, and to remove the server type as pvp
you open your mangosd.conf and look for server settings
and you'll see game type, now go all the way down to the server settings and change it to watever you like, the server setting should tell you what game type you want
0 = NORMAL;1 = PVP; 4 = NORMAL; 6 = RP; 8 = RPPVP
# also custom type: 16 FFA_PVP (free for all pvp mode like arena PvP in all zones except rest
# activated places and sanctuaries)
example:
GameType = 0
now for this, you can change any of the rates this way, it dont only have to be

ok, now that i figured out how to fix the rates, my next 1 is the lvl, how do i max the lvl? i want to make it 120 or 255 just for fun, but even i would change it, it would say

Do have a few problems getting it to work.
This is what i did:
1.Run the full setup (everything went well, no errors)
2.Run the Ambergui. Started fine.
3.Tried starting the Apache and MySQL server. (getting an error from windows that the application needed to be closed.
4. Manually started realmd.exe and mangosd.exe (getting an error that the databases could not be found, after reconfiguring the .conf files with the right passwords).
5.Connected to MySQL. It seems to be that no databases were created during installation.
Retried this like 3 times, no effect.
Any one has the same problem or a solution?

I am using : v7624
I am running the server and its perfect..but after a while if there are other players on the server from other countries for example the world FREEZES after a while but now ERROR message , no Disconnect just FREEZE
I am having major connection issues. I ran the 2.4 version for a long time fine where both internal and external networks could access it. Then I switched to blizz for a while and now want to run this repack again. I did everything the same as last time but no one can connect, it starts just fine no errors or anything just that no one can connect to it. If anyone can help I would aprreciate it. here is some basic info
Server PC local IP address 192.168.2.5
I have forwarded the proper ports
My realmlist on other network pc's changed to 192.168.2.5
My issue here concerns the editing of the hosts file in windows. what should they read.
if my interinet IP is x.x.x.x on the server my host file reads
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.2.5 localhost
on the other network pc's i have it to say
192.168.2.5 x.x.x.x
This is how it was setup for 2.4 repack and everything worked great, but this is not working at all.
Any suggestions?
I seem to be getting some error messages something along the lines of
SD2: doscripttext with source entry 16483 (typeID)=3, guid=57200) could not find text entry -1000181.
Anybody had something similar happeningand perhaps knows it means?
Another thing I'm wondering about is how do you use the updated versions of Amber?
Even tough I ran the v7624-v7689 update it seems Amber still runs the v7624 version.

I changed a couple of lines in the amber.ini file and now it seems to be running the latest version.
The MaNGOS 0.13.0 v7624 is working very good and if im posting this is because i want to give my opinion like a CONSTRUCTIVE critic... but every city in the outland have robots walking in the air im tired of delete them i know someone expended some time planting those mobs everywhere in the outland but in the future releases please dont do that, if you like to do fortifications and air support use some more imagination and plant some dragons or things like that but robots walking in the air? man dont use drugs when you mod.

I am having a slight issue. Server starts perfectly fine. I can log in, create characters and play. but after like 5 min of play, the Mangosd.exe server crashes. any idea?
If you have NPC obots in the air it sounds like you have vmap hight/line of sight disabled pop those on and you npc guards know they cant leave ground floor to attack somone/thingQuote:

Did someone successfully updated v7624 to v7689? I just tried. Everything seemed to go fine. But when it started AmberGUI it still said it used v7624. I started it and it was true, it booted v7624. In amber.ini path to realmd.exe and mangosd.exe is still set to v7624 folder. I tried to manually edited it to v7689 paths but then I get this message when I start AmberGUI

Also, when I tried to manually start new magnosd and realmd I got errors with mangos database. I'd say it didn't actually updated anything. I manually updated SQL databases and then new mangosd booted correctly. Also when I tried to manually edit paths with AmberGUI through it's settings, nothing happened. I can browse to new file, but when I select it, it doesn't update anything.

I want to report some important bugs.
- Hunter pet don't respond to given commands.
- Warlock pets also don't respond to given commands, and don't have spells!

Yeah I'm getting this problem as well, also problem with the database updating with the latest patch. In the end I just wiped everything and started over. Install the original full version and just patched it to the latest one even if it does not actually work. Noticed one of the fist (4th) DK quests still don't work.Quote:
