manual update would be achieved by backing up realm & characters then importing to miniserver, then importing every core sql with db name and rev number greater than the version you got the backup from e.g. 8416+ from the v8901\sql\updates folder for both db...simple! Looking at the image makes me wonder if you added this release to your old mangos folder?Quote:

Ok I found an old post about making a server using this repack public, but it was dated. It was for repack 2.4.3 and soem of the files it talks about aren't there anymore. Any ideas?
sory my bed english i install v8286 and update v8415 I use this version is fairly long Till v8901 I installed a new position C:\MaNGOS Then rename the old folder, which is a version v8415 C:\MaNGOS8415 Then back up Using Db Export To file C:\MaNGOS8415\Backup\v8415\characters\characters_12122009_1337.sql About this But enough to put out C:\MaNGOS\Backup\v8901\characters\characters_12122009_1337.sql The program does not read .sql file But to read .zip I have converted .sql to zip i import all db in v8415 to v8901 Using AmberGUI db import and export After i run Realm Will have a my image I do not understand

...commented lines start with # so add a # to the start of those 3 lines and save!
The miniServer is based on uniserver 5.4 nano and has the a_diagnostic folder present, this contains some tools & instructions to assist in diagnosing errors. It also has ssl capability, more info and control of the miniServer is available thru http://localhost/apanel with apache running ofc. Here you can generate the required keys for ssl and change username/passwords which are currently set to admin/amber, remember if you change the mysql root password you must modify all config files to reflect this. With this in mind Ive coded AmberGUI so changing the password and then pressing enter/return in the settings tab in the gui should update all the config files(you should hear a bong - replace with whatever noise your system makes)and the same is true for database names...yes this all needs documenting but as its just the tip of the iceberg it will take time...

I got the point about how to update character database to keep my characters from version 8415 but i have an problem: i can't connect to database with SQLyog using as settings: localhost, root, amber. It gives me an error saying: Error No. 2003 Cant'connect to SQLyog server on 'localhost' (10061). Can u open my eyes and tell what i'm doing wrong this time? I want to keep my old characters on this new server too. Please!Quote:

Do you have vnc? Its easier to do than write an essay that few will understand - no offence. Its not so much the files as the concept you need to understand...
- your router must be setup to forward the correct ports
- your realmlist entry should point to your external ip
- your host file should have entries to allow your pc and the lan to see the server
- your firewall should allow these connections
Ok so I have the ports forwarded, the realmlist.wtf is easy enough to edit. Now, which host files do I have to edit for the pc and lan and see the server?
Ok got the sql files updateds and server is running :ott:
That was easy enught to figure out .
BUT THAT @#@#@ minin sever for the webpage is driving me nuts I hate it :grr:
It was alot easier b4 when i just put the webpage files in the www dir and it worked ;)
The mini server seems to be screwing things up and I can't get mangosweb to run eg i get a blank page.!
Maybe I don't know how to use the miniserver panels yet but it altready changed mysql passwords :(
Had to reset them in the config files again :(
Shiva when you do the update or future releases use the old way it worked great no problems :8:
Oh well back to trying to figure out the miniserver so I can get my webpage up.
