hmm i updated it, and it was just fine, maybe try reinstalling it, and then installing the update? thats what i just do, install the latest amber, then install the update and it'll work fine.Quote:

there is no guide as there is no need for a guide as you dont have to know how to install it as you dont install it. it does it automatically so why are you trying to install something that you dont have to and cant since it is a repack and takes care of everything for you?
well for one that when i had the url out no one can see it because it running off the http://localhost/minimanager/
or i am doing something wrong i thought there setting in the scrip everyone has to do to get other player to join in like if i tell them to conncet to 127.0.0.1 well they will be connceting to them self but if i tell them to conncet

Before I start beggin for help, I'd like to thank shiva for this awsome repack...
However i can't seem to get it to work... Thing is a friend set it up for me before with mysql 5.1 and Amber. My issue is i forgot what he did. He first introduced me to WoW like a week ago with this stuff. But I had an unfortunate accident with my computer trying to mod the OS, and had to do a complete reformat. For some reason my Recovery Console couldn't rebuild my OS boot files. So I was crap outta luck. Long story short, he ended up configuring MySQL for me. I've used it before, but I dunno what kinda database and options to use within the setup. I have the latest Amber patches and stuff here on my computer from mysql to net 3.5, but no idea where to go from there. A link to a guide, preferrabally well written would be awsome. Thanks much.

Some feedback:
1. Possible bug with the installation of v7748 full install.
Getting error during installation.

Does not seem to be a problem in gameplay though.
2. The vmap extractions are pointing at ..Data\server1\WOTLK\, not to ..Data\server1WOTLK\vmaps. This is causing a missing vmap error on starting the world servers.
A simple move resolved the problem.

For those who wish to do a quick upgrade, from v7689 to v7748 (10 steps...lol)
1. Start v7689 miniserver in Ambergui (the database).
2. Backup all your databases. Pay special attention to realm and characters databases.
3. Make a copy of the 3 conf files. (realm, mangos and scriptdev), for each server you use (I only use 1)
4. Shutdown miniserver and rename the c:\mangos directory to something else (I call it c:\mangos.old and set it aside if I need to roll back.
5. Install the new v7448 installation, extracting maps etc (the whole thing). Verify that the vmap files themselves are not in the "..mangos\data\server1\WOTLK" directory. If you find files there, move all of them to their proper place, the "vmap" directory.
6. Start the v7448 miniserver only (the database), save a backup of the new databases, import the old v7689 realm and characters databases.
7. You may need to copy your old realm and character database backup files to their respective folder in mangos\backup\v7448 for them to be seen in AmberGUI.
8. Copy your conf files over, but remember to backup your existing files first. The only change required is in the mangos conf file, as a new entry has been made.
LogFilter_AchievementUpdates = 1
Place it directly above LogFilter_AchievementUpdates = 1
9. Restart your entire server stack in Ambergui.
10. Play.

In the image you posted the GUI starts, finds an instance of apache running, starts mysql which cannot bind to a socket so it shuts down then mangosd obviously cannot find or connect to the db. Conclusion: your changing some but not all of the required settings!Quote:

I HAVE changed the realmlist.wtf, and the realmd config
when i run the server, there are no error messages, everything starts just fine.
also if i get on the intranet page in the mangos folder and check the status of the realm on the network computers, it shows that the realm IS working

Well... I really hate to come in here and beg for help, because frankly, I don't want to feel like I'm wasting anyone's time, but I seem to have a problem.
I tried searching through this thread but I can't seem to find anything on this, and all of my attempts at a fix have failed, so if I'm brining up old history, I apologize -- I just really want this to work :(
Neither my mangosd.exe or realmd.exe will start. It doesn't matter if I try and start them from the AmberGUI or from my windows explorer -- it just fails.
It gives me the error message:
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling this application may fix this error."
I haven't jumped straight into a re-install, considering that this install took forever in the first place, and in order to make sure that my computer would take this install properly the first go round, I made sure to completely un-install MySQL, and Xampp, so I know that this isn't any sort of program conflict.
My SQL databases work fine, as does the website and minimanager (all of which, I'm exceedingly greatful for), however, without my realmd.exe and mangosd.exe I won't be getting very far.
Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

I very rarely find myself in need of help about stuff like this, but I guess I've been out of the MaNGOS game for too long (about 5 months -- a lot has happened in that time, or so it would seem).
Reinstall your .netframework v3.5 sp1 or is it sp2 now...anyways its corrupt or insufficient version. Found this earlier in topic with my reply a couple of posts later...:tongue:

If you follow the updates then probably, but depends on whats released from the db crew and if I feel the need to reassert proper db content in the installer. With that in mind use sqlyog and grab the sql from the log as you change content so it can be re-applied whenever & distributed if you see fit!Quote:

you must have installed the patches until 3.0.9, but it appears that u didnt install the LK expansion.
it happened to me - you have to install lk expansion + updates, until 3.0.9

I hate to say it but that last 7748 core was buggy and unstable.
Almost anything caused my server to crash I had a bad week with that core !
