Please include playerbot, or tell me how to add it to your repack. Your repack is the best I have come across and the only thing I feel that it is lacking is the ability to level up my other characters at the same time.

...to the first post. 9862-10199_update will follow shortly. Suffice to say the removal of the data blob from the chars db has put the cat amongst the pidgeon's plus the shift to 3.3.5a broke most patches...no excuses tho

I appreciate verry much your work and i have some questions about this new release.
I saw that u changed to YTDB now. Is this compatible with previous releases with UDB? I mean that i can use the saves from previous releases with this one? I can insatll this one and then use old backups?

I've gone with YTDB because it's an active project with timely updates allowing a more pro-active release program with db content changes as well as core fixes makes the task more worthwhile.
Backups from previous chars,realmd and scriptdev can be imported BUT require the core updates applying from the backup version to the new version. You will find the core sql updates in the sql\updates folder.
You could just wait for the update release and have it all done for you...

Well I have to say this new version is the first repack I have ever seen that has the Draenei starter quests working properly!
So if this is caused by the switch to YTDB then I'm all for it. Well impressed and looking forward to continued development of Amber!

Hehe YTDB content is way ahead with ~20Mb more data its close to 25% more than UDB which appears to have steadily declined since the Trinity fork which is now so far apart from mangos that it's support has been dropped from miniManager. It's so refreshing to have actively developed data content and imo our russian friends contribute more than their fair share to the opensource community.

I was considering switching to ytdb for some time now.
Now that you are using it for your great repack I will give it a try ;)
Although I hate switching from something I know udb to something unknown ytdb but if it's better ;)
BTW how is the update coming I finshed extracting the maps I am just waiting for the update vers.
Saves alot of problems updating the character & realm files ;)

Hmm as a developer the first priority is to make sure your not repeating someone elses work so with that in mind I would use UDB as a starting point for adding to and corrections of the existing dataset...purely a logical step in aquiring the best validated set of data...so that has me wondering where they started from... turns out it's down in the svn log as mangos by kapatejib whom I know from posts on my topics over the years. I remember he was spurned by the devs for producing better script and db content whilst having newbie status unless I've got my synapses crossed. Meh I had pre-release access to his stuff at that time with a view to using it in the repaq but our babygirl came along and the rest is history as they say. Still I'm convinced the basis would have been UDB...
