Me and afew of my friends wants to start up our own private server, we got alot of game ideas and they are looking to me to get the mangos core and all files we need to get going so could some please post a download link to even mangos 3.1.1 and ill work on getting 3.1.2 users to be compatible.

there is no guide as there is no need for a guide as you dont have to know how to install it as you dont install it. it does it automatically so why are you trying to install something that you dont have to and cant since it is a repack and takes care of everything for you?

well for one that when i had the url out no one can see it because it running off the http://localhost/minimanager/
or i am doing something wrong i thought there setting in the scrip everyone has to do to get other player to join in like if i tell them to conncet to 127.0.0.1 well they will be connceting to them self but if i tell them to conncet
to a different ip i am sure it will work

I dont know if this still exist but i remember when you killed the city guards of the opposite faction you used to get honor....why dont i get any and is there any fix to make it work?? Using latest version of AmberGUI..
Its been a long time that guards dont give honor, they gave in the past, yes, but in pre tbc times, i think

Ive been looking at ubuntu and wondering why I pay good money for bugged software when its all free and maintained in nix. You see what Im getting at? FREE n bugged is better than paying for the same pleasure, dont you agree? Im sure your aware that mysql & apache & mangos are mostly developed on nix If its been a while since you checked out free os's or never then it might be worth taking a look. Before I start beggin for help, I'd like to thank shiva for this awsome repack...
However i can't seem to get it to work... Thing is a friend set it up for me before with mysql 5.1 and Amber. My issue is i forgot what he did. He first introduced me to WoW like a week ago with this stuff. But I had an unfortunate accident with my computer trying to mod the OS, and had to do a complete reformat. For some reason my Recovery Console couldn't rebuild my OS boot files. So I was crap outta luck. Long story short, he ended up configuring MySQL for me. I've used it before, but I dunno what kinda database and options to use within the setup. I have the latest Amber patches and stuff here on my computer from mysql to net 3.5, but no idea where to go from there. A link to a guide, preferrabally well written would be awsome. Thanks much.

Some feedback:
1. Possible bug with the installation of v7748 full install.

Does not seem to be a problem in gameplay though.
2. The vmap extractions are pointing at ..Data\server1\WOTLK\, not to ..Data\server1WOTLK\vmaps. This is causing a missing vmap error on starting the world servers.
A simple move resolved the problem.

For those who wish to do a quick upgrade, from v7689 to v7748 (10 steps...lol)
1. Start v7689 miniserver in Ambergui (the database).
2. Backup all your databases. Pay special attention to realm and characters databases.
3. Make a copy of the 3 conf files. (realm, mangos and scriptdev), for each server you use (I only use 1)
4. Shutdown miniserver and rename the c:\mangos directory to something else (I call it c:\mangos.old and set it aside if I need to roll back.
5. Install the new v7448 installation, extracting maps etc (the whole thing). Verify that the vmap files themselves are not in the "..mangos\data\server1\WOTLK" directory. If you find files there, move all of them to their proper place, the "vmap" directory.
6. Start the v7448 miniserver only (the database), save a backup of the new databases, import the old v7689 realm and characters databases.
7. You may need to copy your old realm and character database backup files to their respective folder in mangos\backup\v7448 for them to be seen in AmberGUI.
8. Copy your conf files over, but remember to backup your existing files first. The only change required is in the mangos conf file, as a new entry has been made.
LogFilter_AchievementUpdates = 1
Place it directly above LogFilter_AchievementUpdates = 1
9. Restart your entire server stack in Ambergui.
10. Play.
