I had exactly that problem. Every time I tried to logon I get that message about getting latest patch. So i changed the file "hosts" located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc to this:

Ok this is not necessary. I wondered where is the realmlist.wtf file, which contained set realmlist and set patchlist command. Now I discovered it's in your locale directory, that is World of Warcraft\Data\enGB (or enUS, frFr etc.). Change both commands to localhost,

set realmlist localhost
set patchlist localhost

set realmlist ---- should point to the IP of the server , its only localhost if your playing on the client from the same pc that the server is on

set patchlist ---- can be deleted all together

Did u updated that realmlist.wtf? It's in World of Warcraft\Data\yourlocale directory. Mine looks like this:

set realmlist localhost
set patchlist localhost
set realmlistbn ""
set portal eu

I have the same version 3.0.9 but please note that it is difference if you have Classic, TBC or WOTLK version. WOTLK version has about 16 GB on hdd.

Anyone have any information on changing the hearthstone's cooldown. I've found the item template entry, but the cooldown listed for spell1 there is -1. I've looked up the spell number listed in that entry, but in the spell area there isn't a spell with that value listed.

Is it possible to change it's cooldown. I spent 3 hours searching through the database last night and looking through search engines. It has been said a few times that they think it is hard coded, and not accessible through the db. Any thoughts?

Hello again,
Even though I had uninstalled MYSQL from the system it left behind a nasty little app called SQLBROWSER.EXE ... It wouldn't let the SQL start ... I deleted the SQLBROWSER.EXE manually and all is good. World 1 will not start but World 2 starts just fine.
I now have the latest and greatest Amber Realease but my WoW is not happy.
Everytime I start the WoW it tries to download a patch and when I cancel the patch download WoW closes as well. I made sure the realms list was set to 127.0.0.1 and deleted the patchlist from the WTF in the WoW directory. I even disconnected from the internet to see if that would help. So far I have gotten the same result every time I have tried to connect to the server. It starts downloading or trying to download the patch then closes the WoW when I cancel the download.
Any idea of a fix for this? I am eager to try out WOTLK (=

firstable u have to make sure u edit your relamlist.wtf
set realmlist 127.0.0.1
in the second place u have to edit in v7899/mangosd.conf for server 1
DataDir = "../Data/server1/WOTLK"
get to world of warcraft folder and get to wow icone not launcher and right click and sed short cut to disktop
3- disconect from internet ( double click on local area conection and disconect
4- start your both world
5- start wow (the short cut u send to disktop (dont forget to untick start launcher on logon screen)
6- logon as user adminsteator and pass administrator
that would do it

thanks had that error to, it fixed 1 problem.. but now it still closes After 1 sec it says my dbc is diffrent? orsomething i got 3.0.9 and extracted that one...

does anyone has a stand alone extracter so i can retry it without reinstalling amber?
or got a fix :O

i did, like i told you.. but now i think about it.. i might just have the wrong version since i play on blizz servers i might have 3.1.3 so im reinstalling a new wow now to try it out :P it might fix my problem ;)

i have downloaded it and i run it but for some reason during the setup it told me to choose a past for the maps vmaps and bdb or what ever the last one is and every past i choose it makes me choose another path... :S

If you read what the installer says, you need to select your WoW folder

Not sure if above url is up-2-date, u can also find the commands in your mangos db command table.
Or maybe setup mangosweb for your server.. each time u updated core u'll have nice up-2-date commands page. (cant remember but think minimanager also includes a page for commands).

Great news!
I had to edit the Hosts file in Windows/system32/drivers/etc
Just changing the realmlist.wtf did no good towards stopping WoW from trying to update.
I now have a working WOTLK server!
I also had to add the data link for world1
I have partially tested the mangadmin addon on the WoW client and so far so good.
The teleports work but haven't gotten much further than that until this evening.

... ok I downloaded this yesterday set it up last night then i decided to make some custom vendors and stuffs at gm island then one of my mates came onto my server (over lan) and he asked to see what the jail looks like i sent him there and i spawned some mail box's and a sign poining to brill just to show him a few of the things a gm can do... thats all sweet and yeah but... i can seem to remove the mailbox's and the sign and they are in an inconveinient place for me is there some way to remove them... if so plz be detailed im new at this


also i made a few custom vendors at the gm island and i was wondering how to rename them cos i tried .npc rename but that didnt work theyre names stay the same and when i level them up they just delevel when i leave teh area is there some way to fix that?

I was just wondering not a big deal jsut curious. Is there a way to get the Creatures to move around? What I mean is all the creatures in this repack dont really move until attacked. IS there a way to fix that?
