There's a few bugs on the DK as many users allready state it, so If i wanted to solve them, how could i do that? Like if the quest is bugged how can i make the NPC give the quests as completed?

or if there is some sort of Update, do I just Restore it into the right database?

ex: character.sql restore into character (DB)...

i made a copy of my data folders b4 i reinstalled so i can still access them after wards how do i transfer characters over to my new install my mates are complaining that they spent heaps of time to get what they had and want me to try and get them back theyre characters...

Peanut,
If you are saying that your friend can get in to the server on your system but you can't, then the problem is more likely to be with your client than with your server.
I would take a look there first before risking any customer content that may still be ok.

i tryed everything to do with the client then the server i couldnt find any problems so i reinstalled mangos and i could get back on again ^^ ty for ur help though /hug

7899-7928 patch install fails cant create w drive .... even if i ignore that and dont uninstall the amber gui fails to start cause it cant create the w drive

PS: Why do the creatures Attack the Players from too far? or when they Right Click them... any ideas on how to fix that?

hmm started making custom npc's and stuffs how does one make a vendor that will tele port people like on the www.funserver.cc vendors instead of having to put portals everywhere

Yep having problems with this patch too fails to create drive W

no problems here , did you shut down mangos and stop the server/realm and make sure the drive was removed ??

also use taskmanager to make sure its all shut down as sometimes it looks to be gone after exiting but the apps are still running realm.exe mangos.exe apatche.exe etc etc

Hi Peanut,
I spent about an hour going through my old 2.4.3 characters DB to get it into the right format for the Amber repack and client v3.0.9, there isn't much needed, but you may end up with a few dead data fields.
Seems to work ok so if you pm me then I will discuss it with you offline so Shiva can keep up the excellent work without too many distractions :)

Oh, if you feel like trying it yourself, remember that their user accounts are in the realm database and that you will need them as well - preferably with the same IDs so the characters get associated with the correct user.

I get the same issue on the Windows Server 2008 system I usually use, but not on either of my test boxes - both of which use different OS's (Sad, I know).

Rather than post the same messages here that we have already seen, can ALL of the people with this issue please pm me with which OS they are using (Exactly, including which variant such as XP pro, XP Home, Vista Basic, Vista Ultimate etc and which service pack level you are using) if in doubt, run the command 'winver' and it will tell you.
I am going to see if I can get a breakdown of which ones work and which don't so we don't fill up this forum. I will post when we have a better idea of where the problem is.

Hi, Everyone,

Recently I have updated to WoW Client 3.0.9 (rev9551) and install Server Mangos V7748 and facing those following problem:
1. client side: everytime I log in to the game it shows up "Patch Require" and ask me to restart, and when I press Restart button it will quit the game and pop up a WoW Patching windows which download and patch to client 3.1.0. After patch to 3.1.0 it continue again and only stop at client 3.1.3> I have check the Realm.wtf file and set the realmlist to 127.0.0.1 but problem not so. please see the pic


2. Server side:
When I try to Start the World 1 and World 2 its show the following error respectively

Note I have not got this problem before when I ran client 2.4.3 and Server V6766.
Anyone have any solution please help

How long is this suposed to last the Update? Its been sitting there for about 15 min allready.

What would be better:

Install a fresh copy of UDB 0.11.0 CS368 + MaNGOS 0.13.0 v7372 and then Update it all the way to UDB 0.11.5 CS380 + MaNGOS 0.13.0 v7899-v7928 ??

or

Just install a Fresh copy of UDB 0.11.5 CS380 + MaNGOS 0.13.0 v7899 and update it to UDB 0.11.5 CS380 + MaNGOS 0.13.0 v7899-v7928 ??

Also There is a folder SQL in there with "Updates", am I supposed to update these on my DB? or did the Amber program did it allready?

EDIT 1: So I installed the lowes full version then Updated all the way to 78*** and still not luck on update 7928, I had a few Errors on the follow updates:

7689-7748
7748-7899
7899-7928

OK everybody take a chill pill...
...thats better. Right down to business if vmaps havn't been copied to server2 or the conf file isn't pointing to ../../Data/server2/WOTLK in server2 folder then you get the vmap error, conf in root of release should be ../Data/server2/WOTLK so check whats not configured correctly.

A manual install of the update is possible...

1. Backup AmberGUI
2. Install update and let it bomb
3. Replace AmberGUI with your backup
4. Start the GUI
5. Copy the sql files in the updates folder to the respective backup folders for v7928
6. Start the miniserver
7. Use db import in the GUI to add the updates to the respective db's
8. Start your realm & mangosd servers

...should do the trick! Im scratching my head as to why this works for some and not others.

BTW latest code was tested on XP x64 SP2 & Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 and worked perfectly...
Oh and the key to sucess running thru a series of updates is to delete ambergui & its ini file before you start...

I fixed my problem by reinstalling wow and then reinstalling mangos i think my wow file maps were corrupted ;/ but now its fixed :)
