Can anybody else confirm the website issue pls...as for the error in prev post all I can do is modify the error handler to be more specific, which has been done and is used in the 8160-8286 update release...it should log all handled and unhandled errors to err.txt with some detail.

Just wandering when you will have the 3.2 server out becuase your servers one of the easiest to set up becuase it just installs like a program

This problem is cause by MySQL services - you've probably did something wrong with another program for MySQL server service. The problem here is with mysqld-nt.exe... try to run it just like it is .... you will receive an error something about inner command blablabla (you are on vista). If you try to run this like administrator, you will receive BSOD. End. Dead.

Only reinstall windows helped to me, I tried for more than 4 days allmost everything ... nothing worked...

Hmm not convinced as it fails at mounting the virtual drive for ichides. It does highlight the need to mod the mysql server settings across the release so it uses 3305 to stop this package interfering with existing mysql installations.

I'm sorry I don't fully understand to this stuff. He can try to disable UAC in Vista and see if it helps - usually that is a cause of many problems... I'm curious that I didn't try this before killing my own OS....

his will be 3.2 whenever the mangos team makes it 3.2 which could be a very long time as there is still ALOT of stuff missing from 3.1.x

Heya,

First off, lots of thanks to you Shiva this is one kickass server repack..

Secondly, Here's a few bugs I've found so far using the latest repack (v8286) just so you're aware of them, I've posted the fixes I used for anyone else who may have had the same problem.

I'm running this on Server 2003, with the server on the H drive and the wow installation on the F drive.

Bug: IP2Nation.sql in the minimanager folder not added to the database.
Fix: Select the Realmd database using SQLYog, and import IP2Nation.sql into the database.

Bug: When logged into administrator account in minimanger, you can't edit the user info for other users. (Note: I'm still sorting out VMaps so the server isn't running.. this may work when the server is running besides its more of a Minimanager bug than an amber bug)
Fix: Use SQLYog to edit the account table directly in the realmd database. Any passwords added need to be MD5 hashed before being input (You can find forms on google to generate this).

Bug: VMaps not extracting, batches kept trying to point to H:\World of Warcraft but warcraft path is F:\World of Warcraft (As specified in amber.ini) - I suspect this is caused because I installed MaNGOS to H and Wow to F.
Fix: Copy vmap_extract_v2.exe and vmap_assembler.exe to your WOW directory and run them from the command line (Type cmd into the run dialog). E.g. [ C:\>vmap_extract_v2.exe -d "F:\World Of Warcraft\Data" ] then copy the vmap folder to your MaNGOS\Data\server1\WOTLK directory.

I do agree with your with this bugs but some can be fixed with with the mangos updates (or u might get the problem worst xD) it depends i have tried several updates but i havent get the right combination yet...

There was recently a repack with a compatibility for 3.2, with some items from the patch as well. No Argent Tournament instances, however, but technically you could replace the components of Amber manually with the ones from that repack and have it work with 3.2. Not really the easy-mode way that people come to expect from Amber, but I assume the 3.2 release will come when it is ready, and without any major flaws.

Just a quick error report, after installing the server numerous times (existing MySQL issues, eventually just got rid of it entirely), the server will now maintain it's data after a system shut down, but now the world server will not stay live for more than a few minutes, with the world server hanging, then quitting.

I didn't have this issue before, can anyone give me a heads up as to what could be going on?

Yea, the character page shows empty boxes when I try to view a character- I haven't tried the DK quest yet though.

I am new to this and am really pleased with this. I do have problems but feel they are minor compared with how well this works. I can not get the Auction House Bot to work even after adding the character and inputing the information in the mangosd.conf file.

But there are alot of fixes done and if you get a bit of time could you compile a new update please

I am not asking 3.2 because it's not done yet but there were/are alot of bugs in 3.1.3 mangos core!
To tell you the truth I liked the 2.4.3 core better but my players wanted to play 3.x.x client

I would try a compile myself but for 2 reasons.
1. I don't want to get out of sync with this repack.
2.My compiles seem to have alot of bugs in them

There seem to be a lot of people asking for a 3.2 repack.
Just to be clear here, Shiva explained a week ago why this wouldn't be done yet - please be patient and try to READ the other posts before asking questions that other people have already asked, the chances are they have already been answered - any time Shiva has to spend repeating himself in the forums is time away from working on the next update release.

For those of you who don't want to trawl back through previous posts, this is what was said:

OK let me explain why mangos is still at 3.1.3 and why modifying the client version isn't for me...since the changeover to 3.0.9 we've had lots of missing db content and various server crashes, this continued into 3.1.3 as mangos devs work closely with UDB there is a line of communication between the two so they know when to move to a new client version. This keeps everything as blizzlike as possible with only official-like data being submitted, if I mod the server to accept a range of clients this will increase the likely-hood of server/client crashes when missing data is encountered. Now that in turn will increase the amount of posts about this type of issue...pop over to mangos & udb forums and you will see they've plenty of errors to fix already without it getting complicated by unsupported client issues. Now there is a 3.2 branch in the repository for folks wishing to work on it but this is for devs and not for general release as its the base for when mangos devs modify the client version to 3.2 Normally this occurs when they've fixed >90% of the errors relating to the upgrade in client. Its very difficult to put a timescale to this but the more devs working on the branch the sooner we see it...pls feel free to step up to the plate!
