Hi iam posting this cuz i needed some help with connections i know a little about this i use the gui to run the server right now i got it setted up to where other pc's in our home can connect to the server but iam lost on the part setting it up so my friends can connect over the internet if soem one can simplify that would be nice note i tryed useing a dns and i cant connect to the server from my own pc
You say you tried setting it up with a dns server but are unable to connect from a client on the server, can other people connect from internet? Lan? Are the correct external ports passed to the server lan ip? I can ask several more similar questions possibly without helping one bit.
Your asking for somebody to simplify what I've expressed in the readme but I don't think it can be done, it requires some technical skills you need to posses to run a server...
I don't mind telling everbody that I really bashed my head against this problem when I first setup a test server 4 years ago and in those days there were major issues with the realm loop errror in the source code itself from release to release it was a complete nightmare and everybodies instructions were different as well.
I'd like to think I brought some clarity to the issue when I wrote the instructions from experiences gained from trying various instuctions as its duplicated in several places by different people *puts ego away*
If you can walk us thru what steps you followed in the readme_en.rtf and where you think you got lost it would be really helpfull to understand where you're up to so we can craft a suitable solution

Sorry about my first post and if it was confusing all i needed to know was a step by step guide on how to set up and configure my server so that family and friends can connect from or over the internet to my server plus i can connect from my computers in my home

it looks like a reinstall of the OS fixed the issue i'm not sure why the install was failing I tried everything that I could on my end to ty and resolve the issue. Disable & uninstall the antivirus, disabled the firewall, made sure windows was fully upgraded but nothing had worked. So i just preformed a clean install of the OS and downloaded WoW by using the wowinstaller and it worked without a hitch. So I do thank you for all your help trying to resolve the issue. I will be looking for your next Amber Release. Thanks again

How do I get to the admin panel? There is no admin panel link under the context menu? I am logged in to the website with my administrator account (lvl 3). I tried going to /components/admin/ but that showed only blank pages on all files opened. Thx for your help in advance.
Also, can someone tell me how to turn off the idle kick so players can idle on the server as long as they want?

Ok, I fixed the admin panel problem with some replacement code I found on acweb for mangosweb, it is working great now.
But, I still cannot find where to turn off the afk/idle kick in the game, I want players to hang out as long as they want since this is only for a few family and friends and not public.
Anyone know where to do this at? Thx
Hey guys, just a couple quick questions.
Does anyone know why some gobjects don't appear when spawned? I've tried to spawn many gobjects (for example the gunships with IDs: 192241 and 192242) but nothing appears even though the log in chat says a new gobject is spawned.
Also, does anyone have some sql files to create loot tables for pretty much all mobs in the ic instances and raids and the vendor tables for all the vendors in wotlk that aren't there in the repack?
I've already put all the missing items from the db into the db and i'd be happy to post my updated one if anyone wants.

Download the file using this LINK and refer to the instructions below:
To change your db password in AmberGUI:
- Start miniServer with or without webserver[no realm or world servers running]
- Navigate to settings\MySQL
- Change password & press enter
Server shuts down and restarts with the new password & all settings files are modified using a search/replace routine with the new password. Oh I almost forgot the website dbinfo field in the realmlist table is also updated
Note:
If you've been messing with the settings files don't expect this to fix everything as the password loaded from the ini file must match the password in the settings files before the password is changed. Not tested on windows 7

I'm encountering the same kindo of error. Instalation of latest release of Mangos Amber runs fine, everything is ok, but once the instalation is finished, Amber GUI pops up and in the log windows there is something like:
Error in LoadEvents: error 60 chains something...
When I try to run server, I receive error that mysql-opt is missing, thus server can not run - the mysql service is not installed - that is weird... Instalation runs fine, why the file is not working now????
Once I will be back home, I will post correct description of the error (but there is no dump to err.thx as far as I know)
My biggest problem is with the mysql-opt.exe - somehow, durring instalation works ok, but once in Amber GUI, service is not available, file is missing etc....How can it be that it says it's missing - the file is physicaly presented...
Later when I turn of the amber gui and look inside of instalation folder, it seems to me like some files get lost - seems to me like there was more files before closing amber gui - but that's maybe just in my mind... dunno

Like I said, I have not seen this type of output before, and was wondering, is this was normal.
I have tried 2 install "routes"..
(1) by running 9611-9763_update.exe and the 9763-9862_update.exe on an existing v9611 install.
(2) by installing v9763_FullSetup.exe and updating that with the 9763-9862_update.exe [Output above is from this setup].
In both cases I get similar realmdb.exe output.
What's puzzling me is why the SQL instructions appear in the console.
Feedback would be appreciated.
I have searched the thread and there does not appear to be any reference to this issue.
And.... thank you for keeping the AmberGUI project alive... I used to love WOW, but strangely, it's a bit more fun playing WOW GOD!!...., even if it means running 40-man raids with one character!!
