Thanks, see I have read around 200+ worth of pages of this thread but not always in orders so I missed that one It's going steady with one seed so I have hopes, thanks a lot, I have an okay connection and usually keep the PC going all night. I've put it to seed it 100 times
You're right I used mysqldump to back up the MySQL DB, grabbed the gamedbd/dbdata folder, moved them over to a fresh 1.5.5 server, restored the MySQL data and copied the dbdata folder over the top of the 1.5.5 one, started it up and it all worked.
And there I was copypasting XML good to have a confirm. I remember seeing something in this thread about making sure about timestamps and something about uniquenamedb - if you recall anything like that?
Hi Guys
I Have what I think might be be hopefully a minor issue. I'm running a 131 and 136 in virtualbox with an MX linux host. 16gb ram, i7 cpu 2.7ghz,
4gb nvidia. Not ideal I know running client on the same machine but it's what I got and it runs ok.
I am using a PC with very similar specs to set up the servers before moving them to my VM host, so it should be good.
Forgot to mention that I am using a bridged network in vbox.
This is the correct way.
Everything is cool for a few weeks then I get a changed IP from my ISP. So got that fixed up, server running again and website up, but when I launched the client it seems to be not finding the server. I made sure I had the address right in server.txt. I also tested the 136 client with the same result. The last thing I tried was a clean install of a new client. Same result. Am hoping one of you guys can cast some light on what's going on.
Normally you're supposed to use your internal IP addresses which don't change if your ISP changes anything - you have a local network and the IP addresses start with 10. or 192. or 172. (it's more specific but in 99% cases it's enough), are you saying you are using the public IP address (such as the one you see on whatsmyip.org)?
Why am I not using the client in Windows? Because I'm tired of all the constant issues with windows 10. The latest issue I had was no matter what I tried I could not create a working network with vbox so I finally threw the towel in and went back to linux. Shame really because when it is running in windows it's ok.
I'm quite sure 343 will be very much on your side here, although I have done setup with vbox on Win10 without issues with the bridged option. I have had some weirdness when I first picked NAT and then changed it to bridged, it doesn't seem to like that very much - you have to use bridged from get go. Or at least try redoing your setup from scratch and see it works. But you should in any case use internal IP adresses.
I just checked with whatsmyip and the one I was using is very different. You mentioned it should start with 10, 192 or 172, mine starts with 192.
I might try setting up a new server and mess around with that a bit and see if there is anything I can do that improves things. The thing that gets me is if I can access the server from my web browser then why does the client fail???
Pete

the IP shown on whatsmyip ( or any simialr service) is your public IP, the one you refer to with 10, 172, 192 are private network IPs, for more info, google "private network classes", these aren't accessible to the public. to allow people to communicate with your VM you would need to use port forwarding (it's different on every router, google is your best friend if you're lost)
Hello 343 beauty? Congratulations on the great and extraordinary work friend!! Can you help me with this doubt? how do i edit that automatic server msg "Enjoy The Server 343" ? please
i wanted to ask you id you have the client files. if so can you share them with me through google drive. the ones listed on page one no longer exist. thanks.
Perfect World Private - ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
This is a complete package of the game "Perfect World" for PC
The server from this package runs on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64
The client runs on WinXP+ operating systems
There is also a 'tools' disc included (pw_dev.iso) so that one can modify the server/client to their liking
The server has been made a simple and straightforward installation. All you have to do to install the server is mount/burn the ISO and run the corresponding installation for it. "./install-pw" will install v136, "./install-131" will install v131, "./install-146" will install v146, and "./install-fw" will install fw(v0517). v136 is the "base" package and REQUIRED to install any of the "addons" which include v131, v146, and fw(v0517). All can be installed at the same time but they cannot be ran simultaneously (only one can be ran at a time). There is a service included to switch between the active installed versions called pwversion (merely type "service pwversion" in the Linux terminal to switch between active versions). These can also be installed as a system service/daemon (if you have a worthy system [with enough RAM]) so that there is NO human interaction required to boot up the server besides pressing the power button (or starting up the virtual machine). Note: If you don't have a good enough system or just don't desire to run as a system service/daemon you can simply navigate a web browser to your server @
You must be registered to see links
to start one game map at a time. The servers HTTPD, MySQL, Tomcat, etc, are all started automatically no matter what (for this reason). If your servers IP changes (for any reason), use "./ipset.sh" located in /root/ to change the IP configurations that were set during the installation.
The client doesn't really need 'instructions' whatsoever, just mount/burn the ISO and install, then it's ready to launch/play. You only need to set the IP of the server to connect to in serverlist.txt (server.lua for FW). For more advanced users there is an auto patcher (CPW) with this package and the two files: updateserver.txt and mainuni.xml also need the IP of the server set in them for the patcher to work.
There is an entire WEALTH of knowledge about this package in a file called "adminnotes.txt" that can actually be found in two locations. A copy of adminnotes.txt is included with pw_dev.iso in a directory named AdminNotes and with the v136 base installation package in /root/notes/
Some of the more technical aspects/details:
This (server) package (and all of the 'addons') *MUST* be installed as the root user/account of Linux!
This (server) package MUST be installed on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64 (included)!
Ports (what ports this package will utilize):
-29000 this is the game port (server-client game communications)
-80 a basic website that is ran on the server so that accounts can be registered (and more even including a help desk)
-8080 a tomcat JSP container for the above website and administrator controls
-3306 the MySQL database for user accounts (should not be open to WAN if running a public server)
Default passwords (CaSe SeNsItIvE):
MySQL = username:root password:root (access from localhost ONLY)
MySQL = usernamewAdmin password:root (access from ANY host)[ie... for BatGM, or Navicat]
.htaccess (/opt/lampp/security/restricted.users & restricted.groups) = usernamewAdmin password:root
pwAdmin = root
hesk (help desk/ticket system) = username:Administrator password:admin

After I did the installation on the 343's 146 server, I'm having problems with pwAdmin as shown below, ie there is no place to login to pwAdmin.
Anyone here, can anyone help me with this problem I'm having? what do I have to do,

Just commenting here because often see people asking in this thread about missing vile/badge bosses in Warsong and the missing g16/US r9 forges. Seems in 343's release, 1.4.6 is US version and 1.5.5 is China version. Without much expectation of success, I tried sledgehammer approach and just grabbed a25/npcgen.data from 1.4.6, loaded it up in Luka's tool (link below) , converted it to version 11, uploaded it to 1.5.5 server and... it appears to have actually worked. I did a quick blaze through with GM wep to test it, and snake boss died, NPC appeared, took quest, vile boss appeared and dropped a mold.
Only outstanding question is where the boss drops are defined, or if that's also been copied from 1.4.6 then the mold bosses aren't going to drop SB/DB molds that didn't exist in 1.4.6. Looking into that... (Nevermind, drop rates are in elements.data so file that comes with 1.5.5 should be fine there).
