Or like I said, use 0.0.0.0 and let the kernel figure it out unless you have a specific reason to only want it on one ip.

:thumbup1: I found filling my jail with guardian bees that constantly sleep to be most effective :laugh: The people that have had the "pleasure" of seeing the jail have said they will never misbehave on the server :peace:

Hey Guys,

still got a problem, setting um the server.
I already got running the start.sh files after giving them the right permissions, but still i get this error message:

=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ===
Cannot find ./catalina.sh
This file is needed to run this program
=== DONE! ===

=== STARTING APACHE TOMCAT ===
Cannot find ./catalina.sh
This file is needed to run this program

What could i do to fix it?
The server is running on a virtual machine not at my home, so i need web access. I can access the "Create a character" page, but when i try to open the admin panel he asks for a login and then i get an error.

Firefox can not connect to the server.

But this problem only exists if the IP has port with it.
Theres no problem to connect to the apache server but when i want to connect to IP:8080 or IP:8443 e.g. i get this error.

Would be glad if someone could help me :)

You need to go through all the server files and chmod all the .sh files to 777 including the ones within the apache tomcat directory

Ty, now it works. But i still can't connect to the ports of the website. If i connect to the IP it works, but when i set a port, like the admin panel (8443) i get a connection error.

Problem solved. Also had to edit the chmod of java in /usr/java/jre*/bin

Type in ubuntu:
try : ufw enable
then : ufw allow 8443
and u can continue with the ports ya need

As far as I know the 79 skills need a later client and server version like 1.4.2, this release is an older client and server so unfortunately they do not work

What do you think. Do 90% of server have lvl 79 skills? Let's put two and two together and get...NO! Do you really think we have it? That's just like asking if we have 1.4.4. (WHICH WE DON'T!)

To get 79 skills go to C:/windows/ (I'm guessing you're using windows, go fucking figure) and delete the folder titled "system32". Once you do that, the fix will magically appear on your screen!

I think your comment is a bit unfair, not everyone here knows the ins and outs of server files like you clearly do. He asked a simple question and only needed a simple answer. Granted he could have found the answer by searching the thread but this is meant to be a forum where people help each other not put them down because they don't have the knowledge that you have.

When I first came here I knew absolutely nothing about server files and even I thought that this release may have had the 79 skills untill I tested them and realised it did not.

I know I'm not even close to calling myself a PW Dev just yet because I know I still have alot to learn and I have alot of respect for those that have been here a long time and have helped me but seeing your post is rather disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the things you have done here and I myself have used some of your knowledge to help advance my own server but I do believe kindness can go a long way.
