Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Hey Guys, as a disclaimer i'll let you know that i'm fairly new to Linux & working with PW server files. However that being said I don't believe i'm a complete idiot (feel free to try and prove me wrong).
So after two days of trying things out with 343's release and countless problems that I was able to work through I feel i have hit a wall and it's time to ask for help.
The problem: I am able to access the server's various folders with as root and as my regular user account which can be seen as "brown" in the screen shot below. However I am not able to execute the ./setup.sh for reasons that escape me. I've checked and double checked and the file is executable. I've also run the command chmod +x on it to be sure. (I'm currently in my first semester as an IT major and we've just begun learning a bit about Linux so this is convenient) & so I tried to do sudo ./setup.sh as you can see in the SS below. The response i get from that is sudo: unable to resolve host ubuntu.
So, i turned to god.com (as 343 referred to it lol) or google for help and most answers i read told me to edit the etc/hosts file and change the old host to the new host ( I attempted to do this however the file is read only) Before i decide to go changing anything from the command line i'd like to know if this is a good suggestion.
I have looked through this post and to my knowledge there has not been another post like this but in case there has been I guess i'll apologize for not being more diligent in my search lol ^^
Oh yes & as you can see i'm using a more updated version of Ubuntu as it is what's required for my class & i'm just using the Xterminal so that I could SS what occurs when i enter the terminal via ctrl +alt+F1 . The Xterminal is the same reason i am logged in as "brown" and not "root" however the result is the same no matter which user i am logged in as.

Re: ¤ The Complete PW Package ¤
Hi guys.
I have a little problem and I've read at least half of the amount of pages here but no one else seems to have this problem. I'm probably not seeing something but I can't figure it outright now.
I'm using Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 32bit and I've installed it using VMware Player on Windows 7. I'm at the point where I have to configure the IP's in the three server files.
I got my WAN IP from this site (What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...)
and
My LAN IP from RUN> CMD> ipconfig and then looked at Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
IPv4 Address............: xxx.xxx.x.xxx
Now is this the right way to look for your WAN and LAN IP address? (I've used the LAN and WAN IP found in Windows 7) And if so, what parts do I change in the server files?
Please look at the picture for more info.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Because of your inability to read! What's wrong with your lazy ass? Your damn answer is two posts over your post. Don't bother opening a server, if you're really this lazy then you won't succeed anyway.

Well you're using a VM for the server so you would want to type 'ifconfig' to retrieve your LAN IP (of the server)... I noticed you're using VMware :D: (which I personally like over VBOX) also make sure to set your network adapter settings for the VM to "BRIDGED" "REPLICATE"

Also, I am still working on an update for this release (as I said I would) for anyone who actually cares (despite all this recent 144 b/s ass drama). That is, for anyone who isn't like "oh fuck 136, now that 144 is somewhere out there"! BTW I have had some people even PM me about 144 and despite what some people may think (and I'll quote one person here) "You're the great 343 you have to have the files" ofc referring to 144. I will re-iterate ONE more time, NO I DO NOT (so please stop PM'ing me). At this time I am purely focused on my 136 release update, and other things in my life!
THANK YOU :grr::thumbup:
