Two things to do, in this order:

- RIGHT CLICK and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

if it still does not work then for sure you have a defective DL

- RE download entire client

Can you reupload the notes file? There was some info in it I can't find on the forums. Adminnotes.txt or something

Sorry for the question but, this server-client package works with Windows XP SP3 or
is only for Linux?

All PW servers are Linux (I swear I've said this same exact thing before too), however, you can run a test/build server in a VM (windows as your host OS). I would NOT recommend running a 'production' server in a VM though.

Don't forget I have an 'update' to this entire package coming out pretty soon - so that's another thing to consider before you go downloading all of it :wink:

Also my release is meant to be versatile (it comes as all ISO's) so that you can pretty much do whatever you want with it. Burn it / mount it for installation anywhere (A physical machine, VMware, VBOX, and many more).

Spoiler:

if you're going to go the VM route (for having a small test/build/fuck around with server) I personally use and recommend VMware Player [it's free now, and IMHO much better than VBOX]

OK I will take your advice and wait for your update, and yes I just want to open a test server for max 4 people, so dont mind to run the server trough VM and thanks for the quick reply.

I know you don't keep track or make a list of what you do, but what would be the biggest most significant reasons for this update? Generals would be helpful, thanks again for all of your work 343.

Biggest thing to have spawned this update is, fixing OHT map quests and spiritual ciltivation quest-line. Previously (last release) OHT was still 'broke' so I added a custom 'cheater' quest to just finish off culti @ lv101 and finishing 'wraiths ploy' unlocked all OHT maps. Now that OHT has been 'fixed' I am replacing these 'custom quests' so that you will have to unlock all OHT maps separately (like on official) and so that culti will be feasible as well.

I am also adding another map with this update. I will be adding the 'new style' a12, but also keeping the old one. The actual 'event cave' is going to remain the 'old' a12, while I will be adding the new a12 (as a12b) completely empty and ready for customization (just like z9 and q20)...

Those are the two/three biggest factors I can think of :wink:

Oh yea, and the length of usernames/passwords is being updated since we just recently tested that out. Usernames will now be 4~20 characters and Passwords will now be 6~20 characters (for main register, change password, pwAdmin, and pwAdmin plugin/force PW change).

Well just one thing i need to know.... in this test server is there like any restriction of the number of ppls that can Login or join....?

Just whatever constraints you'll be limited to via your available bandwidth...
