Hmmm i cant teamviewer atm im working on gfx's and is pretty annoying cause i got to test many of them.
my suggestion is : install vbox --> install ubuntu 10.4 ---> install power iso ---> after all that done open your machine log in as root then go to Devices ---> CD/DVD Devices ---> and chose the Host Device that you mounted on the server_root.iso
its better for you until u get the vmware working.
Okay, now i tried following like 5 different tutorials on how to make it public, Like which ip do i use in the configs?
Download Simple Port Forwarding | Simple Port Forwarding™
open your ports with it (make sure that you chosed the right modem or whatever u have)
then after you open ports 8080 29000 (i didnt needed to open the port 80)
Go to DMZ and add there your ip and the push on DMZ or confirm depends on what you have.
After your 100% sure that you have done all perfect give your ip to a friend to test it:ott1:
Alright, I will do that, thanks alot. But, I already have those ports fowarded in my router administration, but when i turn on the server ./start.sh, and then wait for it to say all done, then i try my http://IPADDRESS/pwAdmin or /admin, it dont show up, it just comes up with xampp homepage. I don't know why.
EDIT: Also, thanks alot for your help.
Okay, is the ip address i use the one where, on my host computer, (Windows 7) and type cmd, then ipconfig, then i use the one thats my ipv4 address right? I know I dont use my gateway address. Or is it the one I use where if i type on my guest pc (linux), ifconfig
And then the eth0 address? which is 10.0.X.XX, Do you know which one i use?
try http://IPADDRESS:8443/pwAdmin

Hello, everyone,
Hello, admin1999,
Ok, for start you can try some cross-diagnose method:
1) Start VM/Vbox whatever you use, start the server.
2) Open CMD on the Win (you mentioned you use 7)
3) After the server is UP and you see ALL DONE message make a
netstat -a
command on both Win and VM side.
4) Lets presume your network has prefix 192.168.44.XXX:
on VM side you should see:
tcp6 0 0 [::]:8443 [::]:0 LISTEN
(and not only this)
on Win side you should see several:
192.168.44.1:ZZZZZ ports like this
5) at this point we can presume that both networks on VM and WIN are UP and you can do PING 192.168.44.1
IF that is OK then you SHOULD be able to get to the XXX:8443/pwAdmin page.
Either way if not here are a few suggestions:
Make sure your Network is set up as NAT under the VM - this will merge the network with your localhost's IPs and avoid conflicts.
When asked by WIN 7 what to do with the new local network when installing VM (because i'm sure the besterd will ask) choose Home Network to allow connections to it.
Experiment with PING from WIN side vers your VM
taking the IP from IFCONFIG command on VM and trying to ping
192.168.44.1 - gateway
192.168.44.XXX - your server ip
Put here some more info about your network (with hidden IPs if you want) so that we can help.
And besides - some LIKE for 343 and dolkeboy will be very welcomed any time since the guys are so helpful, don't you think?
Cheers, mate!
Someone had to say it xD
