Just use 7z

i did and when i "Open Archive" it says "! C:\Users\NakToHak\Downloads\PW_136_Client.7z: The archive is corrupt:
yup md5 and sha-1 hashes match... dont know if this will help but when i download it the file extension is .001 shouldnt it be .7z? if so idk why it is switching
No, the end of the filenames are numbers because it's a split archive (.001, .002 and .003). you're not trying to 'merge' them are you? I've seen people say something about 'merging' them to extract them, and that is absolutely not necessary (and I'm guessing may actually break the archive if tried).
no im not 'merging' lol i just right click one file go to 7z then open archive and it says unspecified error... idk ill try downloading them again today and see if anything will change
The same thing happend with the server files the other day....... It wouldnt mount due to it being a corrupt iso..... Maby same sort of thing anyway a cpl weeks till update is being released then all will be fixed.....
GL
I dont mean to be a pain in the ass but was wondering if you had a approximate ETA on the update? as I'm trying to learn all I can and I went straight to the 1.4.4 add-on
//Dies from 343's glare//
anyway I am now going to 1.3.6 as a starter and wanted to know if the release was like in a few days I would wait b4 dl'ing the client as my net speeds aren't exactly optimal atm...
It will easily be a few weeks, thinking of doing things differently this time around too. Instead of using 4shared (as much as I like hosting sites I also learned what happened with M/U)... Think maybe this time around I'll do a torrent, although I know it has it's downsides too if I can get it to enough people for initial seeding for 'public' launch - the speeds will far exceed that of any site like 4shared. Of course the downside is if people only leech and not seed, well it will eventually DIE. And well, I guess that's not really my problem <.< Maybe I'll put the smaller files on 4shared too...? Then I wouldn't have the client(s) on 4shared because #1) they'd be too big, and I'm getting sick and tired of splitting the files for places like 4shared [or every time when I'm 'building' them])... So maybe I'll have the client(s) torrent only, and the servers on the torrent AND 4shared? IDK Maybe I'll just do torrent only all the way around, and leave this old release available on 4shared...
So at this point, I need any volunteers that have high speed servers/seed box's or anyone that could web seed or whatever to contact me (respond in a post here then I'll PM you [my PMs are turned off for incoming new messages]) if interested in helping me get a torrent for the pending release going.
The higher upload speeds you have, the better chances you have of me picking you!
Id be willing to help seed from both my house and office...
Upgraded my net connection will be running upload speeds of 30mb/s as of next friday
and the office has upload speeds of 60mb/s...
Let me know and ill seed at least a month from both locations
PM me we can tlk there or pm me your skype and ill add you....
I just tested it and......Works well as intended .... did you try to dl w/o a manager? if not try it.....
I noticed Firefox was corrupting my dl's if A)2 big or B)took to long.....switched back to chrome and havent had a issue
Sounds great:):)
:?: Hi!
I am..incredibly terrible at this stuff, but I thought that I would try it >.<
Sadly, I'm stuck at one of the most basic steps :X..
Here's my problem :(::
So, I installed ubuntu successfully on my old windows XP. (12.04 LTS, and 32 bit I believe..)
That worked out.
After that, I got into the root user thing on terminal using thatthing. It worked.Code:su -
Next, with the mounting step, I didn't want to burn a new disk with server_root.iso (do I have to? :X..really don't want to...>.<) so I googled online for how to do it with just an iso file, and mounted it with a command like this I believe:
Not sure if this is the exact one, seems similar though to what I used (what I used is at a bookmark, at home..>> on the old laptop running ubuntu).Code:mount -o loop -t iso9660 /home/meowmeow/Downloads/server_root.iso /media/cdrom
Anyways, it worked, and it mounted under Media, but it was read-only.
Then I did:
-this worked, I think, and I got into the commands for the mounted iso file..Code:cd /media/cdrom
Then:
(I tried to copy it all to the root, like you said).Code:cp -R * root/
However, it was read-only and not writable, and I couldn't do so :<
I tried some things I found after googling (how to make it writable): "chmod", "sudo mount -o remount,rw 'media/cdrom' "(may have put an extra space in it so I will try it again when I get home I guess..>.>), and such.
However, it stayed read-only..
So, I guess my questions are, what did I do wrong? And, how do I make it writable/what do I have to do to actually get it done right?
:(: Sorry, total noob at this stuff. :?::?::?:
Waiting for a reply, and tyvm.:):
First of all......
the only sudo command that yu will ever need in pw deving is "sudo passwd root"
after that logout and login as ur root user.....
mount ur iso...whatever way u choose then do
"mount -o remount,rw /partition/identifier /mount/point"
(replace with your location)
I belive it may solve ur issue....also if u want to connect with winscp u need to do
"apt-get install openssh-server"
Hope this helps if not maby some 1 with more knowledge can help
Yeah, I knew I screwed up somewhere..
*sigh :X
As for logging out and logging in as root, guess I'l go google that.
Ah, and thx a lot for reply :D
One last thing:
after sudo psswd root, how would you log out and login again? Googled it, found this:Spoiler:Is this the right type of thing, or the wrong type of thing? (How Can I Log In As root User?) is the link where I found it at..I'l continue browsing at home and trying ><
